This is the most beautiful place I have ever been too. You park above the beach so there is a set of wooden stairs that are pieced together. They are not difficult to get down. There is a covered patio structure at the top of the steps. When you walk up to it and look out over the water, you are smacked with absolute beauty. The sand is pure white and there were no objects in it that you can randomly step on. Now on to the ocean. It was a perfect crystal blue! Take a pair of goggles because you can see forever. It is located in a cay so there is no need to worry about wildlife bothering you. If you have kayaks or canoes I suggest taking them. There are two tiny islands (maybe 5 minutes to walk one of them) that block the entrance to the cay. One is covered in trees and the other is pretty bare. A few people took kayaks out there and climbed on top of the bare island. One of the best parts was that hardly any people were there. We went 3 days in a row and probably saw 25-30 people in total. This beach is an absolute must-see if you are near there. It is also located towards the end of the island. If you continue down the Queens Highway, you will hit a local bar/restaurant that had very good food. Also, there was a tiny bakery next to it that had a fantastic...
Read moreI visited Tropic of Cancer Beach in Exuma with high expectations, but I was a bit disappointed. The beach has beautiful turquoise water, soft sand and almost no waves, which is great for swimming and relaxing. However, it also has some drawbacks that made it less enjoyable for me. First of all, there are dozens of multi-millionaire houses budded up against half of the beach, which spoils the natural beauty and makes it feel less secluded. Second, the other half of the beach has lots of bugs from gnats to mosquitoes, which are annoying and can bite you. Third, there is a section at the end of the beach that says “no trespassing”, which is confusing and contradictory since there are no private beaches in the Bahamas except the ones the cruise ship companies bought (Disney and Royal Caribbean). Fourth, the road to get to the beach is very rough and full of potholes, which could damage your car. Fifth, there is only one small shack on the beach that sells burgers, hot dogs and drinks, which are not very appealing or healthy. Overall, I think this beach is overrated and there are better...
Read moreThe Tropic of Cancer beach was gorgeous and worth the drive. At first we passed the turn off because the old sign had fallen but quickly realized our mishap. It’s certainly a rough road and not for everyone. We had a fun time, enjoyed the beautiful white sand and blue water. We hiked around on the rocks and had fun checking on the scenery. The beach had tons of sponges and small shells, the rocks and branches nearby are also covered in the small snail shells. I’m from the mountains of WNC so this was a first for me. I would love to visit again one day. Great place to bring some beach gear and just hang out...
