The swimming pigs experience was okay. The adult pigs are very aggressive, because the smaller pigs tend to be selected out for feeding by tourists (small pigs are cute, easy to handle, etc.). If you can go at a time when there are few people, it's better. If someone in your party can distract the large pigs with food while others get in a swim and photos with some smaller pigs, it is an enjoyable experience.
If you have small children, please just pick them up and carry them. You will be careful and vigilant, just like we were with our 4 year-old, and your kid will still get nipped at by a big pig looking for food in their tiny hands. You honestly cannot be careful enough with small kids. Just pick them up and save your child and yourself the trauma. Our son wasn't hurt badly (bite didn't break skin), but it scared him badly and somewhat ruined the experience. We were warned many times in advance, and were very cautious, but it still happened.

Read moreThis must be one of the rarer bucket list entries; swimming with pigs! No Name Cay is a quick, easy trip south from Green Turtle Cay or north from Treasure Cay. The pigs are friendly enough and they'll probably seek you out because you'll be prepared and have just what they crave; fresh food and water! Taking some supplies with you is the only way these little guys survive because this tiny uninhabited island just won't support them otherwise. Nobody seems to know how they arrived here in the first place. Ask a local tour operator...

We had fun petting them and they would only get pushy when people came out with food. They like their belly’s rubbed. We heard one of the locals say that is it better to feed the pigs by throwing the food (apples, grapes, etc) in the water because the pigs end up consuming a lot of sand if you just throw the food in the sand which makes them sick (or...
