My wife and I recently spent a day at Disney’s Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point during our cruise, and it was hands-down one of the best stops we’ve ever made. We weren’t sure what to expect from a Disney-run island as a couple traveling without kids, but this place turned out to be an absolute gem—gorgeous, relaxing, and packed with just the right amount of magic to make it unforgettable. It’s not just for families; it’s a paradise tailored for anyone who loves a perfect getaway.

From the moment we stepped off the ship, we were captivated. The turquoise waters sparkled under the Bahamian sun, and the shoreline stretched out like something from a travel magazine. The pier walk was a bit long—about 15 minutes—but the tram ride quickly dropped us into the heart of the island, and we forgot all about it. We headed straight for Serenity Bay, the adults-only beach, and it was everything we’d hoped for. The sand was soft as powder, the water was so clear we could see fish swimming by, and the peacefulness was a dream—no splashing kids, just the two of us lounging with the sound of gentle waves. We grabbed a couple of cocktails from the Blue Hole Bar—a rum punch for me, something fruity for her—and toasted to what felt like our own private slice of heaven.

The food was a standout. We hit True-True BBQ and loaded up on plates of tender ribs and spicy jerk chicken that had that authentic Bahamian kick we both love. The all-you-can-enjoy setup let us linger over lunch, savoring every bite while soaking in the ocean breeze at the open-air tables. Afterward, we treated ourselves to Junkanoo Lattes from Mangroves and Go—rich, bold, and the perfect afternoon boost. The way they blended local flavors into the menu made it feel special, like we were getting a real taste of the Bahamas alongside Disney’s flair.

The entertainment was a pleasant surprise. We caught the RUSH! A Junkanoo Celebration, and it was incredible—the local performers brought such energy with their colorful costumes and pulsing drums. When Mickey and Minnie joined in, decked out in Bahamian-inspired outfits, we couldn’t help but grin—it was lively without feeling childish, and we found ourselves swaying to the rhythm together. Later, we popped into the Goombay Cultural Center, where we tried our hands at making Junkanoo headpieces. My wife’s turned out better than mine, naturally, but it was a fun little moment that gave us a deeper appreciation for the island’s culture.

The nature trail to the lighthouse was the cherry on top. We strolled hand-in-hand through the untouched landscape, surrounded by wild greenery and stunning ocean views. Standing by the lighthouse, with the wind in our hair and the vast sea ahead, we felt like we’d escaped to somewhere truly special. Disney’s kept most of the island undeveloped, which we loved—it’s rare to find a spot this pristine and unspoiled.

The pier might be a minor hassle, but once you’re there, it’s a non-issue. Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point is a brilliant mix of natural beauty and subtle Disney touches, perfect for a couple like us looking to unwind and make memories. We spent the day sipping drinks, exploring, and just enjoying each other’s company in one of the most breathtaking settings imaginable. We’re already talking about when we can come back—this place...

This was our first time to Disney’s Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point, and we cannot wait to go back. During the first visit to the location back in the summer there was a lot of negative feedback that has since really changed. At first there was a lot of flies but Disney has added fans, sprayed fly attraction sprays on other parts of the island and also installed some fly deterrent machines to help out. It might not be perfect for everyone but honestly we did not have any issues. The tram road is now fully paved which makes the tram ride a lot better and a lot less dust being kicked up. The ocean blue is lovely and the sand is so soft on your feet. We really enjoyed the beach and as they add more chairs it will help if the large ships visit. Right now on the beach there is 2 lounge chairs and 2 beach chairs for 1 umbrella. Make sure you share if you do not need them all. There are plenty of cast members walking around the beach and taking your drink orders. There is both a family beach and serenity bay which is 18 years and old. Both beach areas have their own restaurants which basically serve the same food. The food was delicious with a Bahamian influence. My only issue was the food was not very hot. It was fresh tasting but definitely need to be warmer. Yes there is a 0.6 mile walk from the ship to the tram stop to take you to the other side of the island where everything is located. The merchandise on the island has a Bahamian influence which special items only offered on the island. Make sure to stop at all the different shops! We cannot wait...

We visited on Friday February 14th and it was amazing and beautiful! To preserve the coral reefs around the island they built the dock a half a mile from the shore. I don’t mind walking a 1000 steps to vibrant Bahamian music to save a coral reef! There were red little tikes wagons available to tow your little tikes. Golf carts from the ship to the island are available for anyone needing assistance. Our friend drove their own mobility scooter due to their bad knee. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. The trams are similar to the ones in the parking lots at WDW and take you to the resort area. The trams were well timed so that as soon as one left, the next was arriving. The food, which was prepared on the ship, was excellent. The Junkanoo celebration is awesome, so that you feel like you have visited the Bahamas. There are crafts made by local artisans. There is a local band in Serenity bay which you can hear in the background when you’re on the beach but you can still nap. The water temperature was around 76 degrees F which was refreshing once you get used to it. There are coral reefs 15 feet out. We brought our own snorkeling mask and borrowed one of the inflatable snorkeling vests from the nearest lifeguard. There were a few colorful fish around the reef. The local insect population is still adjusting to the scents of mass quantities of food, and some reviewers have complained, but we only saw a single fly, and a single bee during our 6 hours...
