This is a must see place if you visit Bahrain. The water is clean. The actual island is also kept very clean. You can do barbeque here, but only at designated areas(which are small). You also can get water motor sports at fee. But when I visited this place, due to heavy winds it was closed. You can rest in any beautiful yet simple crafted huts there. You can also pre reserve huts based on there numbers assigned to them. There is gym, basket ball, volley ball, kids play places here. There are only few food restaurants here, which were closed at day time. 1. You need to travel to Al-Dar Island office. 2. Buy the tickets for your travel in a ⛵ boat till the actual island. The journey is only possible with sea travel of about 5-10 mins depending on the konts the boat is traveling. Tickets will be 5BHD on weekdays. And 8BHD on weekends. 3. Once you arrive at the island. You can stay as much time as you like. No nights allowed. Room and huts reservations are also available here. They also arrange for a huge party event tent. Can hold up to 100 pax.

We took the trip out there and had the place to ourselves for the morning. It was a cooler day, which explains it, but it's a nice little island you can walk around in 15 minutes and they have fun adventures like a playground for kids and swings in the water. You take the boat at Al Dar booking office and they load you into the boat quickly. The ride takes about 10 min and getting back is as easy. The beach there has nice covered chairs and seating areas and water sport items for rent. There's a restaurant and with your water taxi ticket you get a complimentary meal there (or at least we did). The view of the mainland isn't the prettiest, mostly industrial smokestacks. But the water seemed clear and they've got a nice brake water built to keep it easy for kids.

Not sure why they have to take our passports at the office to be given back on the boat. Saw the van driver walk off with our passports to show them to his friends and then openly was flicking through them for no reason. The price on weekend is 8 BD per person. That includes the boat, entrance and food voucher of value of 2BD. The bar and shop had no staff so had to walk around for someone. The cocktails were small plastic cup with 80% ice and price was 2.5BD for one. The food was big portion. Had to wait 35 minutes for it, but it was nice. The atmosphere was ok until some random men in boats started parking up on the outside swim line of the island and blasting loud music and shouting. Then another men in jet skis kept parking up there. Also would be good if they implement children and non children area as I don’t find it particularly peaceful when kids are running screaming and splashing. Spent a whole day there and did not see one life guard. The sun loungers were nice, but turns out they have mattress blanket cover to use but only found out after seeing someone else take one from a random room next to bar. Water is nice, super warm. Very nice to enjoy after busy week.

It is the best place for picnic. Rates are different for weekdays and weekends. Timings 9 AM to 9 PM Ample parking available at the office. They take you by small bus to the jetty point and then by speed boat to the island. Restaurant is available on an island which serves food and drinks. This time we tried cheese sandwiches and it was loaded with the cheese slices. Previously it was allowed to take your own food and drinks now it’s not allowed. Specious place. Huts, shack’s are available on chargeable basis. Toilets, changing rooms and shower area is available which is neat and clean. It’s a safe place. Quite and relaxing atmosphere. I love to visit again and again

If you want to spend a day on the beach just a 7-minute boat ride from the mainland, then head to Al Dar Island. Pristine clean sand beaches, delicious and affordable food freshly cooked at the island's restaurant, barbeque pits and beach huts and chalets to rent either for a day stay or an overnight stay. Very good service from the staff who are there to make sure your stay is enjoyable. If you are into fishing or dolphin watching, you can rent a boat and cruise around the island. A very nice way to relax on a Friday afternoon or whenever you find time during the week. Al Dar Island is Bahrain's hidden gem where you can spend good times with friends and loved ones.

Being in an island you expect to have more vibes. Unfortunately the island is not well maintained. The management didn’t put an effort to keep the island clean. I attached pictures of the dirty backyard of the chalets which could have been much better. The 2 ladies at the kayak rental shop seems to be disinterested in their job specially the filipina (looking at her phone while asking her with one word answer to every question). The restaurant staff looks unprofessional. No uniform. With dirty casual clothes. No variety in the menu. Dead playground for kids. The island could have been better if they have a swimming pool in it.
