The Dilmun civilization practiced mound burial, similar to the Kurgan culture Europe and in other areas. The more important someone was the bigger, the burial mound the more stuff that was buried with them to serve them in the afterlife. Apparently full families are buried beneath these mounds presumably with animals and the such. Dilmun was originally a person presumably that is involved with the Sumerian creation myth. Apparently, apparently, at some point, Bahrain was considered a paradise area It’s definitely worth reading up on to get a more full understanding of ancient Middle Eastern folklore. The archaeological should not be overlooked. It’s very interesting actually. Well, worth the stop.

Completely disappointed! There are no descriptions here, no history explanation. There is trash lying around and poor access to the ground. It looks like an abandoned construction site :(... Rather than coming here, better simply read about this place, history, traditions and rather spend the time wandering around the narrow streets of the old town where you get a hands-on infusion of local customs first hand ...
