Read moreCare my comment if you're planning to go with your family in your personal car.
About roads: Roads are narrow and you will face immense trouble while turning back your car in weekends due to numerous tuktuks, touring and motorcycles.
About people and most important advice: Local people are decent but the usual tourists there are young teenagers, rascals motorcyclists who will slam your car if you're looking for parking, give scratches while passing if you fail to give them space. Idiots go there like in gangs of 15-20 people on a pickup deck with sound system and half nakedly. Do not let your daughter/sister/young lady sit in the front passenger seat. They start dancing and showing dirty posters if your car is behind any such pickup.
About timing: go as early as possible, leave Nikli before evening. Possibly of robbery at night is very high by the pickup gangs. They are mostly from surround areas and know each of information they need to make you victim. We didn't see any police on the way or in the area.
Food: Some restaurants are there, food quality is bad but price is reasonable.
Boat: you have to hire a engine boat to other tourists spots like mithamoine and ostogram. Cost is 3-4k.
Final advice: I have traveled express many destinations in Bangladesh. This one was my worst. Do not take your Family there in weekends or public holidays. Better to take your family in a day long tour in nearby Resort with...
