Pagla mosque is about two and a half years old historical located on the banks of Narsunda river. Legend has it that Mahavir Isha Khan's male subordinate Dewan Zilkadar Khan alias Zilkadar Pagla left worldly affairs and lived a solitary life in spiritual pursuits. As a result, he was known as 'Crazy Sahib' to people. This spiritual man floated in the middle of the river Narsunda to get mats and settled near the present mosque and many devotees gathered around him. For his worship, the Dewan family built a tin house on a hill in the middle of the river Narsunda, Pagla Sahib's own favorite place. That house later came to be known as the 'Mad Mosque'. Another incident regarding the naming of Pagla Masjid is popular among the people. That is - a childless begum of the family of the founders of Haivatnagar was called 'Mad Bibi' by the people. A Begum of Dewanbari dreamed of building a mosque on the banks of Narsunda and it became known as 'Pagla Bibir Mosque'. Built in modern architectural style, the current land area of this mosque is 3 acres and 88 percent. Which was only on 10 percent land during construction. The three-storied Pagla Mosque has three large domes on its roof and a minaret the size of a five-storied building.
