Madhabpur Lake, nestled amidst towering hills on all sides, is truly breathtaking. It is located about 40 kilometers south of Moulvibazar town and 10 kilometers east of Sreemangal. The shimmering waters of the lake, the serene and shaded environment, and the presence of water lilies and lotus flowers enhance its enchanting beauty. As you move forward, the more you explore, the more delightful it becomes. Upon arriving at Madhabpur Lake, the scent of green leaves immediately lifts your spirits. Surrounded by lush green hills and high ridges, the even rows of tea plants in the flat tea gardens create a magical, nature-painted landscape. The blue sky and deep green hills, along with the scenic beauty of the tea gardens, resemble a painting by a master artist, drawing you into another world.

The lake is located in the Patrokhola Tea Garden of Madhabpur Union in Kamalganj Upazila. To reach the lake, one must travel through the bumpy paths of the tea garden. The sparkling water of Madhabpur Lake, the shaded and tranquil setting, and the blooming lotuses and water lilies evoke a sense of wonder. The lake winds its way through the hills with ten gentle bends. In winter, flocks of migratory birds visit the lake. Blue lotuses bloom among the water plants on the lake's surface. On both sides of the lake, tea bushes are scattered across the hilly slopes.

The tea garden authorities have created a narrow walking path along the edge of the lake below the hills. Atop the hills, there are straw-made tents. Madhabpur Lake offers a perfect blend of water, hills, and tea gardens – all wrapped in a wild solitude. However, visitors must leave the area before 6 PM, as per the instructions of the tea garden authorities. About five to six kilometers away from the lake is the memorial of Bir Sreshtho Sipahi Hamidur Rahman – a significant site in the history of Bangladesh’s Liberation War and also a visually appealing place worth visiting. Additionally, Kamalganj is also home to Hamham Waterfall, the second highest...
