I visted Farley Hill National Park in Barbados is a beautiful destination offering lush greenery, historic ruins, and stunning views of the island's east coast. Here's a brief guide:Location: Located in the parish of Saint Peter on the northern part of the island, it's easily accessible by car or guided tour.Attractions: The park is known for its impressive ruins of a mansion, which was once one of the most majestic on the island until it was destroyed by fire in the 1960s. Visitors can explore the ruins and learn about its history. The park also offers hiking trails, picnic areas, and panoramic viewpoints.Scenic Views: Farley Hill provides breathtaking views of the rugged east coast of Barbados, offering opportunities for stunning photographs and relaxation.Events and Festivals: The park hosts various events and festivals throughout the year, including concerts, theatrical performances, and cultural celebrations.Nature and Wildlife: Nature enthusiasts can spot native flora and fauna within the park, including tropical plants, trees, and bird species.Facilities: Facilities at the park include restroom facilities, picnic areas with benches and tables, and guided tours for those interested in learning more about the history and ecology of the area.Accessibility: The park is generally accessible to visitors of all ages and abilities, although some areas may be more challenging to navigate for those with mobility issues.Remember to bring sunscreen, water, and comfortable walking shoes to fully enjoy your visit to Farley Hill...

Oh this place is so special to me. Farley Hill National park is a hidden gem in Barbados, one of my favourite places in the world. It does, however, need some TLC, some investment in renovating and bringing it back to its glory. The park features a lovely ‘view point’ and a gazebo at the top, flanked by wonderful shady trees. It also has restroom facilities and a lovely kids park for all ages (be careful, however, some of the toys can be dangerous as they’re in dire need of replacement/fixing) It has lovely areas for walking and the grounds are pretty well maintained. The mansion at the heart of the park is an incredible feature, and is shouting out for restoration. The entry fee is $6 per car. We use this park as a place of peace, quiet, solace and seclusion- it is never busy, always wonderful.

Highly recommended, although in dire need of love and affection- I hope an initiative to raise funds to restore it will be raised soon as I would love...

It's the best public park in Barbados. The children's playground area is no way comparable to what you see in Canada or the state's, but there are monkey bars, swings, see saws, play structures just all are old. What is beautiful are the surroundings. You can go for a walk into the forest or go and look at the old plantation house. There is also a great lookout from the Gazebo where you see a large swath of Barbados. You have to pay 6 Barbados dollars for a car to enter - can have as many people as you want in the car. Also the parking lot is quite large and it is a great place for 2-10 year olds to bike around in circles and even along the road to the plantation house. With all the trees and the location the weather is never boiling hot there so it is one place in Barbados to cool off to 25...

This historic national park has been an attraction for both tourists and locals alike for many years. I've enjoyed it's ambience for both family picnics and corporate gatherings, and the many shady areas provide much needed shade from the scorching sun. The surroundings are well maintained, and there are also toilet facilities available if needed. My most recent visit was at night to see the awesome decorations that have been rolled out for Christmas 2024. This is a "must see", as everything is beautifully lighted - the entrance, the trees, the ruins, the washrooms, nothing it left out. It was well worth the effort to reach there so late at night.
