The meaning and statue purpose is very important to all those impacted by the institution of slavery. More should be done to make this statue & the history of slavery more assessable to those seeking understanding. The roundabout needs safer entry/exit points …especially for elderly. Maybe …it should be moved to a more prominent areas whereby ALL visitors to the island must view it. ie..the Airport or a prominent beach.

Powerful and important statue. Was lucky enough to be in Barbados For Emancipation Day (August 1st) What an event it was. Sombre at times, but also celebrating Emancipation and the African diaspora. Enjoyed meeting so many people, learning games and enjoying...
