Castle of Gors — Attraction in Borgloon

These were five days in heaven.

We stayed in the antique tower flat of an amazing perfectly restored castle. Exzeptionell. Unique. A little bit adventures. 100% romantic place. Jaris: Unbelievably friendly. Warmhearted. Just a great enthusiastic person. One of the most romantic stays in my life. A roof terrace for an amazing sunset (with champagne and spectacular strawberries, THANK YOU JARIS🙏) and nights under the stars if you wish so... Super clean and so unique. Well equipped. This place is located at the open side of a forrest so a mosquito ( we had three in four nights, so its not really a deal!) alone in the nature. If you love silence, or the singing of birds, the sound of the wind in the trees and the funny sound of the frogs in the nearby lake... if you prefer an absolute worldwide unique stay.... this is your place. Steep steps, from my experience on small ships: walk down backwards (!) from the bedroom. We had the wonderful feeling to come as guests and leave as friends. It is not really a place for high heels and evening dresses but for spending a heartwarming time in an antique place that has its own atmosphere. It is in mint condition, a great bed and we also felt very safe in the surrounding.

This is truly a magical place that needs respect and a lot of care from each visitor. The Castle of Gors is all about history, about an amazing owner that renovated everything and gave life to this place with his own hands. The castle is suitable as a venue for weddings, can be a perfect location for a romantic getaways and for amazing nature cycling trips in the orchards of Borgloon. Highly recommend this place. We went in winter and enjoyed the hot fireplace and the cosiness of the ice tower, warm swimming pool....

De IJstoren is echt een bijzondere manier van verblijven en overnachten. Een prachtige vrijstaande toren tussen de bomen achter het Empirische kasteel. Bij nat weer is het modderig om bij de toren te komen. Binnen zijn er trappen die aan de binnenkant van de ronding naar de etages leiden, alsook vanaf de eerste etage vanaf de buitenkant tot aan het dak met de kantelen. Heel mooi wat gastheer Joris ervan heeft gemaakt. Beneden een zitdeel met koelkast en magnetron, een houtkachel die helaas niet meer gebruikt mag worden, koffie capsule apparaat en veel elektrische kacheltjes om de toren te verwarmen. Op de eerste etage verrassend een ligbad met kleine wastafel en het toilet, op de 2e etage een queensize bed. Op alle etages rondom ramen met luiken die van binnen gesloten kunnen worden om de vetrekken te verduisteren. Op het dak van de toren staan 2 comfortabele stoelen om van de zon en het uitzicht te genieten of snachts naar de sterren te kijken. Er kan als torenbewoner gebruik gemaakt worden van het zwembad in het kasteel dat op enkele minuten lopen te bereiken is. Parkeren kan voor het kasteel met privé ingang. Een prachtige omgeving om te wandelen...
