READ THIS: Don't listen to anyone who says this place is not worth visiting! I went to this place several times because it was so fantastic. It is NOT the chateau that is necessarily to be visited: I never went inside except to buy the tickets and get the map! I went all through the GROUNDS of the castle. AMAZING land! There are the ruins of an 1100 year old Norman fort with a story of the "mad monk" who used to murder travelers passing through. There is the "Pillory" where serfs used to be beaten. There is a small port there that shows the water levels used to be HIGH in that area (think about that...) and BEST of all: there is a hunting lodge built atop a huge pile of boulders that is man-made(!) that is amazing to see. They need to mention it or in their website, or in the brochure of map that they give or some signs in the castle. Otherwise it feels not so pleasant to hear it. There are only few rooms to visit, however it is very beautiful and has a wonderful story and history. We had a tour with guide, and it is nice because without all explanation it can be too...

We got the tickets for €17 adults, but they tried to charge full price for an 11-year-old kid. So we just took the tour. There are six rooms you can visit, and they are on the same floor. You can't go upstairs, you can't take pictures, and you can't discover the rest of the castle. They will hurry you to get out as soon as possible....
