We went here after viewing the ruins of Logne nearby. They advised us to also visit here. A small museum with an informative layout. Even if the old artefacts found in the well etc. dont interest you that much, it is worth the view of the building itself. We spent about an hour here.

Wat is dit een fantastisch museum! Ongelofelijk mooie verzameling van archeologische vondsten in deze streek. Eigelijk zijn het 2 musea in 1 gebouw. De vondsten in de kasteelruine van de 15e eeuw, met spectaculaire voorwerpen uit de waterput. Op de verdieping zijn alle grafvondsten tentoongesteld van de periode 5e en 6e eeuw van de Merovingers, eveneens indrukwekkend mooi! Maar er is een grote tijdsperiode van 900 jaar verschil tussen beide musea. Dat zorgt wel wat voor verwarring als je je het hoofd er niet bij houdt. Na het bezoek werd ik nog verwend met lekkere koekjes uit het bakkerijmuseum, wat een weelde! Tenslotte een min putje, waarom doet provincie Luik niet mee met de museumpas?

Leuk en interessant museum, zeer vriendelijke mensen. Eigenlijk 2 losse musea op hetzelfde terrein. 1 archeologisch museum met vondsten uit de waterput van de ruïne verderop & gevonden voorwerpen uit een oude grafheuvel vlakbij. Erg interessant. Leuke speurtocht voor kids ook. Echt eindelijk eens een fatsoenlijke waar daadwerkelijk wat moeite voor gedaan moest worden!! Het andere museum was een bakkerij museum. De introductiefilm in de benedenzaal was vrij lang en informatief. En uit 1972!!! De bovenzaal vol met mallen en vormen die gebruikt werden door bakkers, zoals mallen voor speculaas, wavels, bonbons en ijs! Erg tof om te zien als je een beetje van oude rare dingen houdt!

The castle is in ruins but very interesting. Make sure to reserve by phone or in the tourist office at Vieuxville. At the tourist office there is also an interesting exposition of findings. There is a cave under the castle! Be aware you need to walk up the hill to visit the castle, parking is...

Very nice displays that include new technology, easy to follow explanations, video of the work done. Texts in French and Dutch. Audio guide in English and German. Don't forget to do the visit of the castle to travel back in time...
