A stunning castle located near Gembloux. A bit difficult to reach without a car but the walk is quite beautiful. The price is not listed anywhere on the property, and one is only informed by the guide that it is 12€ in cash. Which is a not a bad price to visit a privately owned castle. Please note that the tour is given in french, however the guide's french is simple and clear enough to understand the gist of timelines and what is what, that even someone with poor french like myself was able to follow along. The first half of the tour is the most interesting part of the tour, since in the latter half of the tour one could tell the guide was struggling with recalling certain elements of the tour and had to refer to her bountiful stack of papers that were obviously not made to be quickly referenced (dense and verbose...
Read moreWe passes by on a Saturday afternoon with the family to check the castle out. The plot is very well maintained. The ground floor of the castle can be visited. No photos can be taken inside. A guide is available to answer questions but no proactive guidance is made. You can visit 5-6 rooms, that are beautifully decorated with wall to ceiling paintings. As well admire ceiling paintings in very great shape. Upstairs you cannot visit. Visit is for free. Outside it looks like the gardens are not open...
