Wanted to visit this much talked about festival for a long time and it didn't disappoint! The market areas have some unique healthy plants and seed collections, as well as quality gardening tools and accessories. A little bit on the expensive side perhaps but again, you get to meet quality growers/seed savers face to face and get their advice (and you save on shipping costs right?). Next to that there are fresh "terroire"/local produce (honey, apples, vinegars, oils, waffles, jams etc) and nice food. The garden tour was interesting and yes, although here and there, you notice it's not as well kept as it once was, the real garden - lover will see its richness and beauty. We unfortunately didn't have time to participate at any of the workshops. I had expected beautiful castle gardens, despite the high entrance fee. but nothing could be further from the truth, the gardens are poorly maintained and there is hardly any room to enjoy them. The paths are narrow and packed with people. The high ticket price is due to the organisation of the local annual market. But I wasn't at all interested in what those local hillbillies were selling there. Not to mention those arrogant luddites who organised the car park!...
