Cascade du Bayehon — Attraction in Malmedy

We went for a hiking experience here but waterfall was almost not there... May be due to global warming or something but other then that the hike was good as the forest was beautiful with a water stream passing through it and different places there were small bridges... All in all a good expiriance.

Note:- near the entrance of the hiking road there is a cafe on the side the lady is a bit unfriendly unless you don't buy something then you can't use the toilet. (we had reached the hiking spot at by 10:30am and the cafe opening time was at 11am...few us girls wanted to use the wc before we start our hike but unfortunately the lady turned us away and said the cafe is closed and she can't let us use the toilet) which I felt was a bit inhumane if she would have told us we would have bought a drink or snack... So...

Very beautiful hike. The waterfall is 9 meters high and located at an altitude of 510 meters. I was initially skeptical about the route as I hiked during last week of December. But nature has its own way of surprising you. Even in winter, the hike is very pleasant. The hike starts at the Moulin du Bayehon, Route du Bayehon Longfaye, followed by a upstream walk next to Bayehon river. It seems river becomes your companion all along the route. The sound of stream is very soothing & pleasant . After some walk , Cascade du Bayehon can be seen , little deeper in a small canyon, on the right side. Very nice point to take rest and watch the waterfall. It is even nicer to climb down the canyon and see the impressive waterfall....

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ La Cascade du Bayehon est une véritable perle de la nature dans les Hautes Fagnes ! La promenade qui y mène est tout simplement magnifique et idéale pour les amoureux de la nature. Le sentier est bien balisé, alternant entre forêt dense et espaces ouverts avec des vues incroyables sur les paysages environnants. La cascade elle-même est spectaculaire, surtout après une période de pluie, où le débit est impressionnant. Le bruit de l'eau qui chute et la fraîcheur ambiante créent une atmosphère apaisante, parfaite pour se ressourcer. Le parcours est accessible à tous, mais prévoyez des chaussures adaptées car certaines parties peuvent être légèrement escarpées et humides. Un endroit idéal pour une balade en famille, entre amis, ou même en solo pour profiter de la sérénité des lieux.
