We visited Les Cascades de Coo in early December. Not much was open this time of the year, but that didn't matter. We walked from the large car park to the bridge, where there was a narrow flight of stairs down to the river and cascade.
One can really can get up close and personal with the water at this point and it's quite exhilarating standing with the water rushing behind so close. There was a lot of spray and the ground was very slippery.
This type of sight seeing space would be a major safety hazard in the UK, as there was only a thin metal fence barrier between you and the thundering water, but thankfully we were not in the UK. 🤣
I can imagine in the summertime this place would be buzzing with activity kayaking, rollercoaster, horse riding, zip lining, paragliding, boating, cycling, hiking, etc. This place advertised it all. Read moreI recently visited Les Cascades de Coo and had a wonderful experience. I arrived in the late afternoon, and the place was pleasantly quiet, likely because it was off-season. The waterfall itself is beautiful—one of the tallest in Belgium—with a strong, impressive current. The sound of the rushing water is really calming, and it’s a perfect spot to take in the natural beauty of the area.
The surrounding village is small and charming, with a cozy, peaceful vibe. I didn’t realize beforehand that there’s actually a children’s theme park nearby, which adds to the appeal for families. Apparently, there are plenty of other activities you can do around the area as well, including hiking and camping, making it more than just a place to visit the waterfall.
