This place is stunningly beautiful! Love the easy access to the waterfall and love the attention to detail by the staff. I’ve travelled to many places and loved them but the Gaia staff truly gives you the care and attention. When we first arrived to Belize airport, we were met by Darrel and he is so knowledgeable in all things Belize, Gaia, and the culture. While the drive to Gaia was a little long, we stopped at a local convenience store where he introduced to us, plantain chips with ketchup. That was an interesting combo but surprisingly good. To mention the roads to Gaia, all were paved except for maybe the last 10 minutes. During COVID, I believe the roads were paved and so there are no pot holes and crazy gravel other than the last few minutes of the drive. Once we arrived to Gaia, we were met by Kobi and we complimentary fruit juice mixed with rum (super yummy!). Normally, when met by staff at other hotels, you’re rushed to check in and get to your room. At Gaia, we were given time to eat lunch and see the overlook of the Five Sisters waterfall before checking in. Once we were checked in, we were led to our rooms and the landscape is well kept and gorgeous. Luckily where we stayed, wifi reached our room. Originally, I did not think we had wifi in our rooms but maybe they all reach the rooms now. Lunch and dinner is delicious but a little pricey so be prepared for the cost. I would say all the food is freshly made and fruits and veggies are from their garden which is organically grown. We met their gardener, Sam, and wow did he blow my mind with all the gardening tricks and new plants I can grow. I would definitely recommend trying at least one cocktails at Gaia as they are uniquely made for Gaia so you most likely won’t find it anywhere else. The rooms were packed with towels for shower, towels for the waterfall, extra soft blankets, big spray, umbrella, and of course, all the bathroom necessities. I believe all the soap, shampoo, and conditioner were locally made and smell like menthol so if you don’t like that smell, bring your own! Overall, our experience at Gaia was great, we definitely felt safe and comfortable with such friendly staff. Oh as for excursions, we did the Mayan cultural tour and ATM cave, which I recommend the latter. If you want a jungle feel, Gaia is your place but be aware of the $ cost to meals and yours since there’s no other restaurant in the area, unless you have a car. Shout out to Loreni, Nigel, Calvert, Lucy, Darrel, Azel, Chris (great magician), and the rest of the staff for taking care of us.

Gaia is absolutely magical. Our stay was over 7 years ago and it is still one of our most favorite vacation experiences ever. The scenery was just breathtaking. We did several excursions and enjoyed them all immensely. We walked to the beautiful waterfall about a mile away and then hiked back to the resort on the rocks, which is still one of my favorite memories. I loved that they had bikes available as well as car service to take guests wherever they wanted to go. Everyone we met at Gaia was extraordinarily helpful. We appreciated the impeccable service and the kindness of the staff immensely. The food… we still talk about the food! I don’t know what they put in the beans, but neither my husband nor I typically like beans yet we couldn’t get enough of these! Everything we ate was phenomenal - fresh, flavorful, delicious, and locally sourced (much of it from their own gardens on site)! The drive to get to Gaia was bumpy and there was quite a bit of off-roading. It was SO worth it though! We were very grateful that they picked us up at the airport and we didn’t have to try to find it or maneuver the Jeep ourselves! I truly cannot say enough positive things about the entire experience at Gaia! If you like adventure, you will LOVE Gaia!

One of the most amazing experiences I’ve ever had! It was like a dream, being so close to a waterfall you can basically just walk out of your room and get right in the water is crazy, the massages by the waterfall from Lily and Meily were really the best we have ever had, the service from Freddy, Selbi, and Deren was excellent all 4 meals we had there! Kobi and Nigel at the front desk were amazing and had excellent customer service, and last but not least Sam and Randolph with the night hike, and garden were inspiring, it’s so amazing to see two people so passionate about what they do, especially when you are as well! The garden experience was unlike anything we have ever done. I can’t express enough how amazing this all was, I would live here, there were no AC’s but the room felt amazing at night from the waterfall breeze, it’s a beautiful cabin tropical jungle experience and we would 100000% go back! Oh, and housekeeping was on-point leaving (wish I knew their names). These are only some of the names I got, EVERY SINGLE PERSON on staff there was beyond excellent! Thank you all for giving Ilona the best birthday trip one could ask for!

Stopped here for a drink after visiting the Rio On pools. An easy drive for a tourist in a rental car. Road is in great shape and the pine forest preserve is BEAUTIFUL. Was not prepared for how beautiful this place is. Highly recommend Rio On pools, Gaia, and the nearby falls as a day trip from San Ignacio. Easy to do without a guide. The rainforest mule was delicious. Had the restaurant to ourselves

Views for days!! The grounds are so beautiful. Very well kept and manicured. I didn't stay as they were fully booked, so I can't confirm the rooms, but I'm sure they're just as nice as the outdoors. The waterfalls below are a must experience as well. This place is a solid 9.5/10. Only reason is not a 10 is because new management no longer allows non-customers to pay to access the waterfall.

This place is fantastic. The lodge is not crowded thanks to the few rooms they have. The staff is incredible and super friendly. The restaurant is top notch and everything we had tasted delicious and fresh. The bar has a good assortment of local rum and all drinks are awesome too. The grounds are clean and the rooms tended everyday. There is a reason the rating is so high for this place. Plenty to explore around and the tour staff is great too. Hitch a ride on the tram to be waterfall and beach area
