The place is awesome. A good getaway location. The boat ride to and fro the location is 2500(quite expensive though). But the boat ride is awesome for starters. Sometimes you have to wait a little for the boat to arrive but never takes too long. Plus life jackets are always available for safety and that's really great. Although I barely use 1.

Now let's talk about the location. Yea the name is right. It's a dock. You get out of the boat and you already anticipating going into the place. The horses, monkeys, and alligator/crocodile (I can't tell the difference between both. but they have 1) at the location is awesome, they add a very cool touch of naturalness that make it a very wonderful location and Kids really love it. When you going hold a fruit on hand for the monkeys. And you gotta watch them jump around in excitement.

A few games for children. A place to play ball and also a swing for children.

Availability of different water activities is awesome. Kayak, water skate and lots more. Although I never got to try any of them.

Now the food. The food tastes great. And a real dish starts around 7000CFA, but you gonna love it. The have a few options for food. But they don have an English menu. So If you don't speak French prepare your Google translator..

Overall it's an awesome experience. If you plan on going alone and need a...

As always, it’s a pleasure to visit Babsdock.

Before anything else, please note that this place only opens during the weekends & public holidays. THEY ARE CLOSED DURING THE WEEK DAYS. It’s pretty far from Cotonou city so be prepared for a long drive.

You’ll need a speed boat to access the main place & this costs 2,500cfa (price for to & fro. A ticket will be given to you at the entrance, payments will be made later on before you leave. This is compulsory, they’ll check before you’re allowed into the boat headed back)

The drive 🚤 leads you through the most beautiful mangrove you’ll ever come across. I kid you not, it is absolutely stunning!

When you’ve arrived, you can relax & get refreshments or not. It’s all dependent on your preference.

Kayaking costs 1,500cfa, same as sailing. Good thing about this is there are double kayaks available so you can still experience this if you’re scared. An instructor can join you & do the most part of paddling.

Here, you can find some donkeys & monkeys. The toilets are pretty decent & there’s an accommodation here for people who’d want to stay over. It’s very limited I hear so you’ll need to call & confirm.

I personally think you’ll have more fun if you don’t visit alone. Have someone share in the...

Let's talk about tourist attraction spots in Benin republic, if you aren't mentioning bab's dock, then your itinerary is incomplete.

Bab's Dock is a great destination with great water views. I and the team got here for a bit of relaxation and we weren't disappointed. The water and environment were beautiful, the food and drinks pricing wasn't expensive compared to other spots in Benin, and the food tasted great. I and my team went sailing ⛵️ and it was fun.

As English speaking individuals we had issues communicating with the staff, but we were lucky that one of them was able to speak and understand English enough to get us sorted out.

Despite the view and water that we loved, there wasn't a lot to do. So if you are someone looking for a lot of activities, they might not have that for you. They have a small keep for several animals and a small swing...

I love the location. Its like a hidden secret. I love the fact that it has unique features that make it different. The lack of electricity and the reusable sources are very proactive. I thought the toilets would stink since they don't use water at all to flush but I couldn't smell anything. It was actually a very cool concept. The food and drinks are very decent. I love the sailing and kayaking options. The seating area and the wildlife around give it that extra touch of unplugging from reality. I'd recommend it to those who are seeking serenity and peace. On the down side the staff have to be begged to receive payment, that is very draining to deal with. The orders also take forever to come but I won't blame that solely on bab's Dock, that laissez-faire approach is a general epidemic in benin Republic I guess.

Bab’s Dock is a fun, captivating and serene environment. It’s a tad bit far from Cotonou so travellers should be prepared for a long ride. The trip ends with a boat ride through a peaceful mangrove. It should be noted that Bab’s Dock is only opened during the weekends so your trip was be properly planned. The gate fee and menu is quite affordable, the best fun is had in groups and with about 30000 CFA, a group of 4 can have excellent fun. Side note: there’s a back entrance to Bab’s Dock (rarely used) as people prefer to take the boat ride. A bike ride, quite scarce, is 15 minutes away from Cotonou. So if you were to drive and you’re not keen on the boat ride, you can make use of the back entrance. In all, Bab’s Dock is a must visit for any tourist who visits Benin Republic.
