* Bhadraj Temple only temple of Lord Balarama in Uttarakhand is located in Dehradun, Mussoorie. The Bhadraj temple is situated on the Dudhli Bhadraj hill, just 15 km from Mussoorie. The height of this temple is about 7500 feet above sea level. * Bhadraj Temple is famous for religious faith as well as adventure tourism. This temple is best for trekking. It is a famous trekking area of Doon Valley. According to mythology, this temple is dedicated to Lord Balarama, the elder brother of Lord Krishna. Here Balram ji is worshiped in the form of Bhadraj. History of this Temple * Lord Bhadraj is considered to be the deity of cattle herders of Pachhwadun, Mussoorie, and Jaunsar region. According to Hindu beliefs, in the Dwapar era, when Lord Balarama, in the guise of a sage, was coming out of this region, at that time a terrible disease of animals was spread in this region. Seeing Rishi Muni coming out of the area, people stopped him and started requesting him to cure the animals. * Then Balram ji cured their animals. People hailed him and requested him to stay here, then Baba stayed with him for some time. And blessed him that in Kalyug I will live here in the name of Bhadraj Devta in the temple. It is said that even today Lord Balabhadra protects his animals. Best time to visit this Temple Every year a three-day fair is held at the Bhadraraj temple starting from 15th August to 17th August. I visited Bhadraj Temple in September with a rented bike. It was a long but rewarding trek of 11 km from Clouds End, Mussoorie. The weather was foggy and chilly, but it added to the mystic charm of the place. The temple is dedicated to Lord Bal Bhadra, the brother of Lord Krishna. It is believed that he meditated here after the Mahabharata war and blessed the people and the cattle of the region. The temple was almost empty when I reached there, except for a few locals and priests. I felt a sense of peace and tranquility as I entered the temple. The white marble structure contrasted beautifully with the green hills and the blue sky. The temple offers a stunning view of the Doon Valley, the Shivalik ranges, and the Himalayan peaks. Pros : - It is a serene and spiritual place, away from the hustle and bustle of the city. - It is a great spot for trekking and nature lovers, as the trail passes through forests, meadows, and streams. - It is a part of the Badrinath Temple, and the devotees who visit here get the same blessings as those who visit Badrinath . - It hosts a fair every year in August, where the local culture and traditions are showcased. Cons : - It is not easily accessible by road, and one has to trek for about 11 km to reach the temple. - It is not very well-known among tourists, and there are not many facilities or amenities nearby. - It can get very cold and foggy in the winter months, and the visibility can be low. - It is not allowed to visit the temple after consuming eggs, meat, or alcohol. Overall, I had a wonderful experience at Bhadraj Temple, and I would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a quiet and spiritual getaway in the hills. It is a hidden gem in Mussoorie that deserves more attention and appreciation.

A beautiful place built in a beautiful location, I visited this place around October. Either you start your trek after few kms from cloud’s end or take your vehicle a little further of around 2 km. But it’s not Tarmac but concrete road with rubble so if you’re on a 2wd there’s a good chance you will lose traction and it can get difficult to drive up. It’s a good 6 km trek otherwise but if you own a 2 wheeler you can go to the top until the mandir. But I decided to walk started at around 1 30 pm reached before 6, though it’s not usual trek route but well laid path with gradual ascent with few easy patches between forest. There is a place where you can pitch your own tent or get it for rent it’s around 1.5 km away from mandir. The night view is absolutely stunning and the mandir itself is lit by lights a spectacle to watch. The sunset was out of this world! Despite being October night was cold enough, and my bad it rained and wind was intense all night. Woke up as early as 5 am and went to mandir at 6 am. I was the only one there so finished up everything and started to head back. By the time I reached dudli, it started to pour heavily and I had no arrangements made for the rain. By the time I reached my car i was completely drenched, I am saved by extra pair of clothes. But I don’t regret any of it. Only advice don’t drive your 4 wheeler up there as the road gets very narrow and there are lot of oncoming 2 wheeler commuters. You will cause a chaotic situation for yourself and everyone out there

Bhadraj Temple located in the hill station Mussoorie is a very beautiful temple dedicated to Lord Balram♥️ The essence of its beauty lies in the "Surveyor's stone" it is made up of, which is white in color. The breathtaking views that we come across during the trek to this temple are even more alluring🌄💕 In between you'll get many maggi points, food corners to eat and tent camps for staying...Talking about the major issue while reaching the mentioned temple is that currently, the road is under construction!! Had to walk a lot (2.5 hrs) just to reach there and vice versa... (So total 5hrs of walking). It took "a lot" of stamina & patience to cover up the distance and also, just before the trek...the path we covered with our bike was not in a good condition. Govt. should focus on these things too, especially in the well being of the citizens..They shud contribute in these hilly areas also bcoz many people go there to visit & it's an accidental prone area. So it's a request from my side to the Govt.🙏 Overall, yeah it was a trek of risk which led me to the divine heights💜Felt peaceful there & captured a lotta pics :) [Maybe the trek tested my physical fitness too😉]... But tbh, we reached there only by the grace of God really!!🙌 (Note:- Go there only at ur own risk and after doing research)... Adding videos & pics by me of that location below. Thank you...

Situated approx 12 Kms from Mussoorie & at 7500 feet the temple offers splendid 360 degree views and superb view of snow clad Himalayan peaks on a clear sky day. I along with a colleague went up to Clouds End and saw this white marble structure perched at top of the hill in front. We could also see a well laid path going from Dudhli village up to the temple. We were on the bike and covered the entire path throttling the 1st & 2nd gear. The path was steep and last 800 mts approx is loose scree and stones. Undoubtedly I can imagine the thrill of a trek if we would have taken on foot as we found many people going to the temple walking. The temple is dedicated to Lord Balram who stayed at this very place after the Mahabharat war. The devotees offer milk & butter along with prayers and seek blessings. As we undertook this journey randomly we didn't have any offerings nor there were any shops, so we just offered our prayers and felt thankful to the lord for this wonderful visit. The views from this place are awesome and we passed good 30 mins soaking in the surroundings. An annual fair is also conducted here every year in August from 15th to 17th where locals in large number & tourists throng this place. In all it's a wonderful MUST VISIT place to visit and a good trek to undertake. Next time we will trek this path for a more rewarding & thrilling experience.

There's only one word for the Bhadraj ji Temple, which overlooks the Doon valley, and that is, 'Divine'. It's a breathtaking experience to be atop the mighty mountain moreso if you plan to reach their through an arduous trek, which is essentially for adventure lovers! The temple has historic significance, and it is dedicated to Shri Balram. Among the various ways to reach there is a trek which starts from Kotli, a 7 km one way climb or from a place around 3 km ahead, which is the difficult one in terms of terrain. The landmark for the second one is Pundir tea shop. However, the tough climb provides some mesmerizing views en route! You find groves of pine trees, pastures, and rocks on your way up and need to be careful regarding the route, or you might end up lost. But the climb is worth all the effort. The trek from Kotli is comparatively simple, though not easy. In both cases, you need to be self-contained for water and food. The other option is from Mussoorie, wherein you can get your vehicle 2 to 3 km short of the temple and then walk on the track leading to the temple.
