Paro International Airport, located in the beautiful Paro Valley of Bhutan, offers a unique combination of seamless functionality and breathtaking beauty. As the only international airport in Bhutan, it serves as the Kingdom's gateway, and it certainly fulfills this role elegantly and efficiently. The way to Paro International Airport is absolutely stunning. The journey to Paro, surrounded by the majestic peaks of the Himalayas, is an experience in itself. It offers travelers stunning views of lush valleys and snow-capped mountains. Due to the mountainous terrain, the landing is considered to be one of the most challenging in the world. However, exceptionally skilled pilots and advanced navigational aids guarantee a safe and smooth arrival. Travelers are welcomed at the airport by the traditional Bhutanese architecture, which beautifully shows the country's rich cultural heritage. Although airport is small, it is impeccably maintained and exudes a sense of welcoming Ness. The check-in process is quick and efficient, and passengers are provided with friendly staff who go out of their way to help. Paro अंतर्राष्ट्रीय हवाई अड्डा, भले ही छोटा है, सभी आवश्यक सुविधाओं को प्रदान करता है। Travelers can pick up special things before their departure at some shops that sell local handicrafts and souvenirs. Also, the airport has a warm café where passengers can relax and enjoy a cup of traditional Bhutanese tea while enjoying the calm ambience. Immigration and customs processes are smooth, and the baggage claim area is fast and effective. Travelers can easily get to their destinations by taxi, and the airport's transportation options are well organized. Paro International Airport offers a delightful experience that captures Bhutan's charm and peacefulness. It is a fitting introduction to the country's natural beauty and cultural richness, making the trip as memorable as the destination itself.

During the approach for landing, the passage of the aircraft through towering mountains at a touching distance was frightening.  The touchdown was again rough and uncomfortable. Even then, the moment I stepped on to the de-boarding ladder, the brisk and refreshing air enveloped me and knocked away all the scare. The typical Bhutanese ethnic facade of the arrival building caught my attention instantly. However, the look of the lounge was hazy and gloomy. The toilets bore a similar sight too. As expected, the SAARC immigration counter had a lengthy queue. But, the airport staff was quick enough to direct us to other counters. The officer had only two queries. He asked, in which hotel and up to what date are you going to stay there. He marked the same for the visa expiry and gave not a day extra. The parking lot is adjacent. Like so, the exit from the port was instant. In contrast, the departure hall has received a modern expression but at the same time has maintained the typical Bhutanese look. During the security check, I forgot to remove the trouser belt. However, the guard was accommodating & allowed me to pass through with no bickering. Wi-Fi is free. Nevertheless, the provider collects a lot of information before giving access. Markedly, if you close the sign-in-page inadvertently, repeat all the steps once again. There is not much scope for shopping here. In that, a book store and a shop selling ethnic artefacts are notable. The aroma from the coffee shop will entice you immediately. There are only three gates in the departure lounge. The boarding pass states a gate, but it can vary. Decidedly, there will not be an announcement regarding any change or delays & like so one has to be on alert for that. Fortuitously, all the exits are just nearby enabling a quick catch up through the ordeal.
