from copacabana take a mini van (near the main church) for 10 boliviano (collectivo shared van). it will drop you at the terminal (main port). 30 min there is sufficient. ask for direction of playas blanca (10 min walk)- could spend afternoon. it has a beautifully located restaurant. make sure to leave early (3 or 4pm) as may not have many passengers to return for 10 bolivia dollars. I paid 20 boliviano to return (take the return in the town and not the port as more people there). worst case you Pay 50 boliviano. you can go to isla the sol or moon but they are charging more here. better take the tour package in copacabana since the boat leaves from this city vs the beach area . I still recommend to take the van at this beach as the tour doesn't allow much free time to...

From Copacabana it is a 17.5km walk (3.5 to 4 hrs) with beautiful views. The walk is along the road which can get a bit dusty when cars pass, but this gets less and less as you walk further. You walk through fields of potatoes, maize, beans and flowers with farmers working and animals such as sheep, pigs, chickens and cows grazing. We were joined by a lovely dog who walked 10km with us! At Yampupata you can enjoy fresh trout on one of the floating restaurants. The playa de Blanca was busy with people enjoying the white sand. We found a taxi to take us back to Copacabana easily for 60 Bs which was fine for 4 of us. Great day out...

A beautiful white sandy clean beach. Hopefully it'll always stay this way. Take your rubbish home with you everyone.
