Codo de los Andes — Attraction in Municipio Samaipata

July 24. We took a taxi from samaipata main square all the way to the bolleteria (that includes the dirtroad from the mainroad, right turn in the village Palermo). We payed 120 bol for the taxi. There, at the entrance we payed 15bol p.P. There are signs that say "guide mandatory" but we went without one. No one said anything and even when we passed a guide, he just greeted us. We then walked all the way to Cuevas where we passed three waterfalls. There its a little bit tricky cause they fenced off the trail. But you just go around the fence to your right at the uppermost waterfall (dont cross the waterfall/river). It could be that you pay another 10bol at the exit to the mainroad. The hike is doable in 4h or less and its stunning! Just dont let people convince you that you...

Extraordinary hike. Well worth the visit. About 5 hours (including breaks) if you do the entire thing, though you could stop after the first peak and probably trim 2 hours off the time - you'd still get the view but would miss the nice ridge walk.

Officially, you need a guide. However it appears this is not enforced and you could probably get away without one. The trail is easy to follow, though a tad slippery in a few spots, so watch your step. Recommend only doing this trail in...

Trilha extremamente difícil e com pontos muito perigosos. Há três entradas. Realizei pelas duas entradas. Na segunda ,entrada que diz que por ali passa uma das trilhas que o Che Guevara fazia, é de extrema dificuldade com barrancos e desfiladeiros e trilha na serra com penhasco e passagem que só passa uma pessoa de largura menor que 1metro. A chegada ao cume por ali é muito dificil e perigosa, sendo necessário até escalar um trecho. Não há locais para se segurar nos trechos de desfiladeiro e barranco. Há pedregulhos escorregadios que nao permitem aderência ao Tenis. A terceira trilha que dá acesso ao cume é bem mais fácil e segura porém parece ser nova e que foi feita agora. Após chegar ao cume é visivelmente impossível chegar as cachoerias de Las Cuevas pela trilha, pois o caminho da trilha tem menos que meio metro, só cabe o pé lado a lado, não há onde se segurar, somente na grama do mato ao lado. A vista é indescritível e única e muito bonita. Realizei sem guia mas não recomendo. Apesar da trilha ser bem definida há outras trilhas e bifurcações que podem fazer a pessoa se perder. Após realizar a trilha falei com nativos que disseram que a trilha era dificil e muito perigosa e ser extremamente difícil chegar nas cachoeiras de las cuevas pelo codo...
