Recently came to Isiboro for a fly fishing trip in August, heading up the Casaré and Pachene rivers with a guiding service in wooden canoes. The park is beautiful, particularly once you get well upriver from the camps and villages, and into unspoiled nature. The jungle changes tremendously as you head upriver, moving away from the silty, sediment laden rivers, into freestone gin clear, fast paced rushing rivers with massive boulder-lined canyons. It was quite the experience. I did not see or hear nearly as wide a variety of wildlife as I did in Madidi Park to the west, however the fishing here was absolutely superb. Heading this deep into the jungle does wonders to recharge yourself and escape the fast paced, technology filled lives that we’re stuck in during...
