Words cannot describe how beautiful this Fortress acually is. The Ostrozac Castle was one of the Largest and most Militarized Fortresses in Bosnia and Herzegovina and was mentioned in 1286 and took 100 years for the Ottomans to take over. There is a Medieval, Turkish and Austro-Hungarian part of the Fortress with each part representing the Castles History throughout its History and what really makes it fasinating is the Sculpture park with Trees, bences, trashcans and Sculptures from Creative Artists from all over Bosnia and Herzegovina! In my opinion is the most Beautiful Fortress in Bosnia and is an Example of architecture from Bosnia and...

The castle itself was in the beginning rased by the Romans. It was later adisonaly fortified by the Ottomans, and after awhile, the last part was finished by the Habsburgs. It is placed above the river Una and is surrounded by beautiful Bosnian scenery. Behind the castle walls there are many statues placed there by European artists. There are plans to restore the castle to it's former glory, with the plans to develope the whole region. So, for now the castle and it's surroundings are beautiful for there esthetics and history, but it is still a diamond in the rough. I wonder how more beautiful can...

Castle looks like something straight out of a fairy tale. The castle's grounds are dotted with unusual sculptures that add a touch of the surreal to the picturesque setting. The castle's historical significance is equally impressive. It’s fascinating to know that prominent figures such as Tito and Vladimir Nazor once walked these halls, adding an extra layer of depth to the experience. The juxtaposition of its fairy tale architecture with the slightly eerie sculptures and its rich history makes Ostrožac Castle a unique destination that’s well worth a visit. And the views of river Una are to die for. 👍

The castle is in perfect location, it has a parking place too. You have to pay the entrance fee, therefore you can go anywhere in the castle area. Graffiti and crumbling walls inside the main buildings. Climb the castle wall just at your own risk, we went up. It can be seen that the castle is in ruins. It's not problem to us, because we like the ruins too. It's a piece of history. The full castle was beautiful before, you can see the memory of it's beauty. We had a great time and would love to visit the castle even in it's renovated. Thanks for all!
