Shishman Ibrahim Pasha Mosque — Attraction in Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina

During the 1992-96 war in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the entire historic urban site of Počitelj and all its various buildings suffered extensive war damage.

Under a permanent protection programme initiated by the Government in 2000, substantive efforts have been taken to protect the cultural heritage of the town from further deterioration and evidence of painstaking reconstruction of damaged and destroyed buildings to their original state is obvious, such as this mosque.

According to its chronogram, it was built in 970 AH (1562-63 AD) by Hadži Alija. The mosque was blown up in 1993; the dome and minaret completely destroyed, and the rest of the building was badly damaged. There are photos of the mosque without its roof/dome inside the prayer area.

In der Nebensaison kostet es kein Eintritt. Doch daran denken, das beim betreten der Moschee die Schuhe ausgezogen werden müssen. Diese historische Moschee wurde 1563 erbaut und ist auch als Haj-Ali-Moschee bekannt. Sie wurde leider während des Bosnienkrieges zerstört und im Jahr 2000 wieder aufgebaut und restauriert. Was sie ganz toll gemacht haben. Sie befindet sich mitten in der kleinen Stadt. Es ist ein architektonisches Meisterwerk der osmanischen Zeit. Kleine Bögen mit einzigartiger Architektur. Der Eingang zur Moschee kennzeichnet die Holztüren, die in der Osmanenart, sowie Fenster und Wände mit schöner Osmanendekoration verziert wurden. Vor der Moschee werden kleine Souveniers verkauft, was ich an diesem Platz unpassend finde. Ibrahim-pašina džamija, poznata i kao Šišman Ibrahim-pašina džamija ili Hadži Alijina džamija, smještena je u starom naselju Počitelj, u općini Čapljina, Bosna i Hercegovina. Ova džamija jedno je od najistaknutijih arhitektonskih ostvarenja osmanskog perioda u regiji.

Povijest i graditelj

Džamija je izgrađena 1562. ili 1563. godine, prema hidžretskoj godini 970, a podigao ju je Hadži Alija, sin Musa-agin. Ime „Šišman Ibrahim-pašina“ džamija je dobila zbog obnove koju je izvršio Šišman Ibrahim-paša, unuk Hadži Alije, u 17. stoljeću.

Arhitektura

Džamija je primjer klasičnog osmanskog stila jednoprostornih potkupolnih džamija. Nema sačuvane vakufname, ali natpisna ploča iz 1948. godine potvrđuje godinu izgradnje. Ulaz u džamiju krase lijepa rezbarena dvokrilna vrata, a krajolikom dominira vitka osmougaona munara s bogatim ukrasima, naročito stalaktitnim nizom ispod šerefe.

U džamijskoj avliji raste posebna vrsta čempresa, za koji se tvrdi da je stariji od same džamije i donesen čak iz Libana. Ova egzotična biljka daje poseban ton mističnom dvorištu.

Oštećenja i obnova

Tokom rata 1993. godine, džamija je pretrpjela značajna oštećenja. Artiljerijom je teško oštećena, a kasnije je minirana, pri čemu su kupola i minaret srušeni. Nakon rata, kao dio Programa stalne zaštite Počitelja, džamija je obnovljena i vraćena svojoj izvornoj funkciji.

Značaj

Ibrahim-pašina džamija predstavlja značajan kulturno-historijski spomenik i svjedočanstvo bogate povijesti Počitelja. Kompletna gradska jezgra Počitelja označena je kao nacionalni spomenik Bosne i Hercegovine, a džamija svojim izgledom i povijesnim značajem doprinosi očuvanju kulturne baštine ovog područja.
