Located in the heart of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Srebrenik Fortress stands as a remarkable testament to the country's rich history. Nestled atop a rocky hill, this medieval fortress offers visitors a captivating journey through time, combining stunning natural scenery with architectural marvels. The fortress offers stunning natural scenery alongside its well-preserved architecture. Exploring the interior reveals impressive defensive walls and towers, while the museum provides insight into the region's history. As I climbed the well-preserved ramparts, the vista opened up before me, revealing rolling hills, lush greenery, and a winding river that added to the picturesque beauty. It's an ideal spot for photography enthusiasts, allowing for breathtaking shots of both the fortress and the natural scenery. A visit to the Srebrenik Fortress is an unforgettable experience that will ignite your fascination...

The displayed translations of the documents of the bosnian bans and kings are a conscious and malicious manipulation of the visitors and/or a reflection of the brainwashing of the translator (a Ph.D.). All documents written in bosančica (western cyrillic/croatian cyrillic script) have in the original words like "tisuću" (croatian thousand), "Ivan Krstitelj" (croatian John the baptist), "evanđelje" (croatian the gospel), etc., but are translated as "hiljadu" (serbian thousand), "Jovana Krstitelja" (serbian John the baptist), "jevanđelje" (serbian the gospel). etc., which was obviously foreign to the bosnian language then and now. In addition, "ikavica" (in all of the slavic languages/nations only present among the Croats) was translated into "ijekavica", which in the end is fine compared to the examples mentioned above, as these are translations into today's linguistic standards.

Parking on the hill 10 minutes walk from the fortress. Price for fortress is 3 KM for adult, but on ticket it is indicated 1,5 KM so they give each person two tickets (doesn't make sense). The road to fortress is very narrow! Still people drive very fast. The parking is 2 KM and you need to give it in cash to some guy. Some kid is selling the souvenirs, and the magnets cost 3 KM. Do not expect a guide, or any content. You can just enjoy the views from the top...

The fortress is referred to as ‘Old City’ in its entirety, given that it was at the heart of life for many years. While it may appear quite run down, one must remember it dates back all the way from the 14th century and has changed hands multiple times over the years. If I had a small criticism, it is that there was no information available in English but that in itself does not take away from what is a very good, cheap (BAM 3 = EUR 1.5) visit.
