Estação Biológica de Canudos — Attraction in Região Geográfica Imediata de Euclides da Cunha

I very much enjoyed seeing the macaws and appreciate the efforts of this organizatioon to preserve them. That said, the rest of the visit was a huge disappointment.

The pros: the macaws were amazing breakfast was excellent the rooms were clean

The cons: the price is ridiculous considering the level of service. 330R per person (no rate for a couple). Plus, 330R per person for a guided 3.5 hour tour. So a couple staying one night with a tour pay 1320R. no introduction or briefing to the area by woman receiving. She handed a pamphlet over and left no staff at the remote location. no internet and very poor to non-existent cell reception, God forbid you have an emergency the guide was nothing more than a man in a truck providing transport. He gets out of truck and starts walking... we chase after him. He gets up and starts walking we chase him. He would answer a direct question but other than that unfriendly and actually seems irritated when he is not laying on a rock napping.. there was a snake in one of the rooms...I understand this can happen but with no staff on location what are you supposed to do? no services whatsoever...not even a refrigerator anywhere available I used soap found in the room. Later I found out it was some sort of cleanser that looked like a bar of hotel soap, left there presumably by accident. Burnt my eyes and caused my skin on my face and head to have welts and burn for three days. Hotel denies this saying I have some...

Queríamos visitar a reserva dos araras com um amigo estrangeiro. Mas achamos intolerável que o preço, bem caro, seja 500 R$ para um gringo e 330 R$ para um Brasileiro. Esta discriminação/racismo é inaceitável. Além disso, o dialogo por whatsapp não foi convidativo. Primeiro responderam que estavam em recesso, em plena temporada turística, uma quarta feira. Insistimos e responderam que não podiam. Finalmente podiam. Diante tanta má vontade decidimos não ir para não gastar tanto dinheiro e correr o risco de passar um momento desagradável. Esse comportamento com os turistas me deixa triste para as pousadas de Canudos (gostamos muito da pousada Por do Sol) que poderiam-se beneficiar mais do turismo "bird watching" se os funcionários da Biodiversitas fossem mais acolhedores e o preço igual para todos. De facto, a pousada só tinha dois quartos ocupados. A consequência de tudo isso foi que ficamos só uma noite no lugar de três. E não tivemos vontade de comprar artesanato, nem...

O lugar é lindo que fica mais bonito ainda com a revoada das araras que estão em grande quantidade. Isso é fantástico do trabalho de preservação da Biodiversitas. MAAAAAS, a minha experiência no passeio em si foi frustrante por conta do guia que não explicou NADA sobre o lugar, sobre as araras, sobre o parque. As poucas informações que consegui foi insistindo bastante em fazer perguntas que tinham respostas minimalistas e sem profundidade.

No local de avistamento das araras o silêncio é importante, só que o trajeto de ida e volta é longo e dá facilmente para passar informações. Saí de lá achando o lugar lindo, mesmo tendo ido com chuva, só que sem saber absolutamente nada. Pelo preço que se paga pelo passeio eu esperava muito...
