Templo Budista Chen Tien — Attraction in Região Geográfica Imediata de Foz do Iguaçu

I visited this Buddhist temple with high hopes, expecting a tranquil and well-tended space for reflection. While the atmosphere still carried a sense of calm, I couldn't help but feel a bit disappointed. The garden, though once clearly beautiful, now seemed somewhat neglected, with signs of abandonment in parts. Many of the statues—central to the experience—were in need of repair, which made the overall impression feel out of harmony with the values often associated with Buddhism: care, mindfulness, and respect for the sacred.

I understand that maintaining such places can be challenging, and I deeply respect the cultural and spiritual importance of the site. O Templo Budista Chen Tien em Foz do Iguaçu foi fundado em 1996 por monges taiwaneses, seguidores da escola Terra Pura do Buda Amitabha, da linha Mahayana.

A propriedade tem 50 hectares de área total, sendo um dos pontos mais altos da cidade, no bairro Porto Belo. O local fica próximo às margens do rio Paraná podendo deste visualizar a Ciudad del Este no Paraguai.

Tem um porém, esta propriedade fica um pouco afastada do centro urbano de Foz do Iguaçu, porque a intenção de seus idealizadores era unir a natureza com o ambiente silencioso e sagrado budista.

O Templo Budista Chen Tien e sua estrutura

De acordo com um estudo feito por um pesquisador da Unila, o Templo Budista de Foz com o passar dos anos foi se tornando um ícone do budismo na tríplice fronteira.

O local apresenta mais de 120 estátuas, que reproduzem encarnações de Buda, espíritos, divindades e demônios.

O templo Chen Tien é o segundo maior Templo Budista da América Latina e um dos mais visitados do Brasil. A entrada é gratuita não precisa de agendamento, o horário de funcionamento é das 09:30 as 16:30h, e o espaço é de muita paz interior, um local bem arborizado e muito bem cuidado. Tem sanitário e uma loja onde é possível comprar lembranças do templo e de esculturas Budistas.

What a lovely surprise right in Iguaçú Falls. Definitely worth a visit. Very peaceful. The surroundings are beautiful. Can’t take pics inside - please respect that. Would visit this Temple many times & recommend it for sure.
