Amazing. Just like the youtube videos. They just need more english guides. But that didn't ruin my experience. I knew enough basic Português to understand some of the instructions. However, the nature hike that you take to get to the river you may not understand without a guide speaking your language. But thats ok because the main attraction is the river..
You will start with getting your wet suit. Then you will have an orientation where they tell you about the route.
Note* the clear plastic trash bag they give you at the start is for a change of clothes when you reach the end of the river.
Then you are taken around the facilities and shown things about the ranch like their produce garden etc. Next you take a shuttle bus, which takes you closer to the river. When you get off the bus there is a short nature walk, about 20min where they will show some of the flora of Bonito.
After this walk, youll get your mask and vest. Then you float. There are two sections. You will float about 40min. Then exit and walk around a waterfall. Then float another 40min to the end. Here you will receive your bag that has the change of clothes. Then youll get on the bus back to the ranch.
Suggestion to the business: Provide an option that doesn't include a ranch tour and a shorter nature walk without stopping for explanations. That will reduce the total time it takes to complete tour. For those who have only have imited time in Bonito, it would help us do more in...
Read moreTour takes about 4 hours for 300 R, with lunch included. Started at 9:30am and ended around 2pm. After showering and lunch, you can expect to leave at 3:30pm.
The water is very clear at the begin of the snorkel. Many fishes in the river. Also has free roaming geeses and parrots at at the reception area. Nice farm, facilities, and restaurant with fireplace to warm up after being too long in the water. They should have signs and tell people not to wear sunscreen and mosquitos repellant to avoid polluting the water.
I took one star off because the tour didn’t have transportation included. For a city branded as a tourist city, it is not tourist friendly. All tours and transportation were sold separately and it was hard to get transportation.
Usually in other countries, all tours included transportation. In Bonito you had to pay extra for transportation, making costs add up.
Second, I came on a slow season, and there still wasn’t enough buses for shared transportation. It was hard to find private transportation also. The town lacks services and infrastructure to accommodate tourism. Shared bus transportation was 95 R and private was 250 R.

Rio da Prata is a snorkeling trip down a small river that has its beginning on the farm that hosts the reception area. After getting a neoprene suit, diving mask and snorkel, there is a 10 minute drive and then a 10 minute hike to the beginning of the river itself.
The trip is about 2:30 hours of snorkeling down the river, basically floating down the river (the activity is called flutuação in portuguese) together with the fish that live there, which are about 1-2 feet in length. The fish get very close, definitely worth having an underwater camera with you (they rent GoPros at the recpetion area).
After coming back to the reception area they serve an excellent lunch, local fare, all very good -the banana dessert was my favorite.
On the way back our van stopped by at "Buraco das Araras", which is a separate trip and one either spends time in their hammocks, or goes on the short (1 hour)...
