I have just come back from Jalapao and your wonderful company put me in the care of Eduan (my guide) and Letitia (our interpreter). Both were absolutely superb. Letitia's level of English is outstanding and I never met anyone else again in the whole of the North East who spoke much or any English ~ let alone at her level of fluency. She was very kind, always available and she loved animals as much as I do, which meant a lot to me too :)

As for Eduan, well, to say he's "one in a million" is still an under-statement... this man oozes kindness and everywhere we went people absolutely LOVED him. The way he treated all the locals (people and animals alike) with great respect was really special to witness. He spent many hours 'behind the scene' trying to make my trip even more special, re-arranging my original itinerary to fit in more of what he reckoned I'd most enjoy (as per what I described), pulled every string he had, and really improved my trip as a result.

I need to state here that I am VERY well travelled.. I'm almost 60, I have visited 82 countries already and most of them MANY times (this was my 6th trip to Brazil, actually), I can assure you that I have NEVER met anyone else quite like Eduan :) That level of dedication is VERY rare.... But going the extra mile was second nature to him. Most other guides just draw the line at 6pm and stop working. But he had so much energy :) He was also a fantastic driver... managing to handle some very challenging roads extremely safely.

Last but not least: he also took dozens of glorious souvenir photos for me, with his HD phone, and filmed some really beautiful video clips too. He had a great eye for capturing the beauty around us and again, he's the first guide I've ever had who bothered to help me out in this way. It was at his own initiative too, I never asked. He just volunteered and I was like: YES PLEASE !

Anyway, I could go on and on.... but you get the idea :) plus.... I don't want to put all your other guides out of business as a result of this glowing review, ah, ah. The whole tour was absolutely beautiful too and my jaw dropped every single day ~ which is my favourite kind of trip. Jalapao is truly an extra-ordinary region. LOVED IT. I'm promoting this region as much as I can...

Conclusion: I had THE best time and this trip will live on in my memory for many years to come.... Eduan & Letitia were the perfect team for me and I feel immensely grateful that they were selected to spend this time with me. If I ever come back (maybe in June 2026 :) I wouldn't want to work with anyone else ~ so consider this as my giving you advanced...

Our family visited Jalapão for the first time and the experience could not have been better. Our guide Eduardo took care of us, including our 3 little kids, like family. Deserto do Jalapão was very organized and professional, our route was very well organized and the entire experience was excellent. We have travelled to many places with our kids but we did not know what to expect from Jalapão. Overall the food is fresh and simple, locally sourced and good. The fervedouros and waterfalls, canyons, dunes are breathtaking and among the most amazing things we have ever visited. Our guide was great acomodating our requests and ensuring our safety all the way. We slept in quite reasonable places considering that we were in the middle of nowhere and the roads are more like an adventure than real roads. Tips for anyone planning on coming: enjoy the people, food and nature, this is not a 5 star resort style vacation but one that blends adventure, unique places and food.
