Paraíso Achado — Attraction in Região Geográfica Imediata de Piumhi

Alright, thrill-seekers and off-road aficionados, gather 'round. This waterfall is not for the faint of heart (or those with low-clearance vehicles). The access road is a disaster zone, a bumpy, river-crossing, "are we there yet?" kind of adventure. If you're driving anything less than an SUV, you're basically signing up for a mud-slinging, suspension-testing ordeal. From time to time you will have to cross a river. Three times. If you have a good SUV, you can drive closer and leave it at the top of the hill. From there it’s a 2km walk.

Once you arrive, you'll find a surprising amount of civilization: a bathroom and WiFi (passport required, because apparently, even waterfalls need to verify your identity). The entrance fee is 40 R$, which is a small price to pay for the "privilege" of driving that road.

Now, about the waterfall itself… let's be honest, it's not exactly Niagara Falls. It's more like a "baby waterfall" – cute, but not exactly awe-inspiring. It's a gentle trickle of water, splashing around like a toddler in a bathtub. But here's the secret: the ponds are where the magic happens. There are tons of them, crystal clear and perfect for a refreshing dip. If you come in the afternoon, the water might even be warm enough for a natural back massage from the gentle current. It's like a spa day, but in the jungle.

For the adrenaline junkies, there are plenty of spots to jump from the surrounding rocks. The ponds are deep enough, so feel free to channel your inner daredevil. And if you're feeling romantic, explore upstream – you'll find some secluded spots perfect for a private dip.

Oh, and did I mention the snakes and spiders? They're still around, so keep your...

Esse lugar é muito bonito. Porém acho que deveria ter uma orientação mais sincera sobre a dificuldade de chegar ao local. Por favor. O turista que quiser conhecer esse lugar. Não vai com seu carro. Alugue um carro. Nós na época fomos com um carro 4x4 porém.... a estrada é coisa do outro mundo. Teve hora que eu quase entrei em desespero. É quase impossível sair de lá com o carro inteiro... só conseguimos sair inteiros, porque meu esposo é acostumado dirigir em estradas do Brasil a fora e tem muita experiência. O local tem pouca placa de orientação. Quase nada.... a pessoa se perde facilmente. É muito longe.... se forem, saia cedo. Enfim. Eu fiquei tão assustada com os lugares que tivemos que enfrentar pra passar, que quando chegou no local, perdeu a graça.... achei um lugar perigoso demais. Jamais levem crianças nesse local. Engraçado. Aqui no anúncio falam que o local fica em uma fazenda. Meu Jesus... é cobrado taxas pra vc conhecer o local, então tem que melhorar um pouco o acesso....

Vale a pena visitar. Passeio para o dia inteiro. Lá existe uma tenda grande onde vende-se espetinho de carne, cerveja, refrigerante. O valor para conhecer o lugar é R$25. O acesso as cachoeiras e poços é de fácil acesso a partir do estacionamento. Pegando a MG 050 sentido Capitólio, vc passa pela entrada do Paraiso Perdido, Complexo da Capivara e logo a seguir, a esquerda pega a estrada de terra. Só dá para chegar de 4X4. Trilha 8Km, com um visual bem legal, pedras brancas, vegetação características, subidas e descidas, Lages de pedra. Recomendo calibrar o pneu com 24 libras. Tem lugares que o engate da caminhonete raspa, devido ao anglo de entrada e saída de alguns pontos, enfim, o percurso faz parte da festa. Um pouco antes de chegar no Paraiso Achado tem a cachoeira do Beija Flor, mas pelo que percebi o movimento é maior no Paraiso Achado. Nos poços tem cordas para vc ir se equilibrando, as aguas são cristalinas, enfim, dá para levar a família inteira...
