Paramali Turtle Beach

A stunning long beach with a wild, untouched atmosphere. There are no tavernas or shops nearby, so it’s best to bring everything you need. Access is through the village of Paramali — look for the turn opposite the small chapel. If you climb up to the cape and look into the water, you may spot turtles among the seaweed. A beautiful wild shingle beach stretching between the cliffs. The beach is used for kite surfing but it also a popular beach for nesting turtles, mainly loggerheads but also the Green turtle! Visitor to this beach must take care not to disturb the nests in breeding season; Turtle Watch patrol the beach collecting data and placing protective cages around the nests in the hope that numbers will increase!
