We were able to visit this amazing place. It was so well worth it despite being a very hot day.

We took the 9:00 am Speedy's Ferry from Road Town on Tortola. We were able to combine the ferry with a taxi to the entrance to the Baths on the far end of the island. It was very easy to do.

Be sure to wear sturdier footwear as there is a trail from the top of the hill where the entrance is to the caves. I wore closed toe water shoes that had good grip, and these were perfect. While in the caves, we had to walk on slippery rocks with ropes and ladders, ducking and shimmying through narrow areas. It was a bit strenuous, but I had hurt my hamstring and had a sprained toe and was able to make it as long as I went carefully.

Parts of the walk through the caves included wading through water that got waistdeep at times. My husband and I both had backpacks with our towels for the beach and other stuff. It would have been better if these had been more waterproof.

The walk through the caves is one way. It can get crowded, so felt a bit rushed. After swimming at the beach at the end, I noticed fewer people coming out, so I went back in. I had the cathedral rock area all to myself. Beautiful!

The beach at the end of the caves has crystal clear water. It is wonderful! We didn't realize, though, that many people do not explore the caves from the top. They take boats to the cove and swim in. It was a little crowded.

There is a snack and food restaurant with frozen drinks, burgers, and fries. The prices are reasonable but you must have CASH. There's a souvenir shop as well.

After the beach we climbed back up the hill. There are two restaurants. We recommend the Mad Dog for a more down-home vibe and fresh food. The other restaurant is usually busier and has pools to cool off in. We listened to a live musician who was very good. There are also a couple of pricey...

This is it! If you have one thing to visit in the BVI do not hesitate to do this. If you are on a cruise ship you don’t necessarily have to do the excursion with the boat as it cost 130 USD per person. We considered doing it but it was fully booked so we did it by ourselves and had a great time and it ended up costing us only 70 per person which was great. It could be even cheaper and only cost you 40-50 dollars but we had to grab a few extra taxis due to the holiday. Best thing to do is to grab the ferry at roadtown or beef island that will bring you straight to Virgin Gorda. Be careful with the holidays as ferry schedules might be impacted (we were in Roadtown and had to take a taxi all the way to Beef island because the ferry would only leave from there). Once you are at the ferry deck of Virgin Gorda take a taxi (5 USD per person) that brings you all the way to the baths and enjoy. Try to avoid group so go earlier in the morning or later in the afternoon and enjoy it’s really unique...

Probably the most exciting experience in BVI. We took the ferry with Speedys from Tortola. I’d recommend emailing the company in advance to inquire about the schedule, as it may change depending on the day. It was a holiday when I went, which affected the departing hours and frequency of the ferries. The trip costs $80 roundtrip for the ferry and the taxt from the arrival marina in Virgin Gorda to the actual natural park. Prices may vary if bought separately. Tickets for the national park are $3. They can also be purchased in advance, but there is a small service charge.

The national park is beautiful. Devil’s bay is where you want to go to the beach, which you can access if you turn left on the main path. From there you can walk along the beach to the caves. They close at 4, so make sure you get there early. Wearing flip flops is not recommended, so either enter the caves barefoot or with...

Send this to someone who needs to add The Baths National Park in the British Virgin Islands to their bucketlist. 🛁 This geological wonder is a collection of massive granite boulders as large as 40 ft in diameter, surrounded by white sand beaches, turquoise blue water, and secret rock pools to explore. 💦 📍 #TheBaths #VirginGorda #BritishVirginIslands 📸 @GoPro #GoProHERO12
