Horizont Thracian Tumulus — Attraction in Hisaria

I recently visited the Horizont Thracian Tumulus and was absolutely blown away by its beauty and historical significance. The tumulus itself is a marvel of ancient engineering, and the artifacts on display inside are truly breathtaking.

The tumulus is located in a stunning natural setting with beautiful views of the surrounding mountains. The interior of the tumulus is expertly designed and curated, with displays showcasing the ancient Thracian culture and history. I particularly enjoyed learning about the Thracian burial practices, which were so intricately woven into their beliefs and traditions.

For me personally the place is more interesting and intriguing than the famous Thracian temple about a kilometer further. The relatively preserved columns are a prove for the existing civilization on those places two thousand years ago Definitely more information is needed because for the temple there is a guide and if you have a question you van ask him but there is nobody here and you are left by yourself to imagine...

Тракийската могила “Хоризонт” е разположена в подножието на Четиньова могила и е част от тракийския култов център край село Старосел в Средна гора. Могилата носи името на европейската фондация “Stitching Horizon”, с чиито средства основно се провеждат разкопките на Траколожката експедиция за могилни проучвания (ТЕМП) през 2002 година.

Под ръководството на д-р Георги Китов е открита структура с колонада, която проучвателят определя като храм от V-IV в.пр.н.е. Той е изграден във вече готова могила, част от насипа на която е отнета за построяването. След това правоъгълното помещение е затрупано, а отпред е останала видима колонадата от 6 лицеви и по 2 странични колони в ранен дорийски стил. Това е първият такъв храм, открит досега по земите, населявани от траките. Различава се принципно от старогръцките храмове, които са изцяло открити.

Храмът открит в Могилата Хоризонт е единственият разкрит засега от епохата на древна Тракия храм с колонада от десет на брой колони. Шест от колоните са разположени отпред и по две се извисяват отстрани, оформяйки правоъгълен блок, който се е издавал пред могилата.
