Exploring the Old Sequoia Trees Park near Kyustendil was nothing short of a fairy tale journey. These magnificent sequoia trees, originally brought from Sierra Nevada, California, by a sailor and entrusted to Yordan Mitrev, were planted just after Bulgaria's liberation from Turkish rule over 130 years ago. This historical context adds a profound layer of significance to the park.

Walking amidst these towering giants, I couldn't help but be enchanted by their grandeur and the rich history they symbolize. The fact that they were planted shortly after Bulgaria's liberation from Turkish slavery serves as a poignant reminder of the nation's enduring spirit and the remarkable connection between nature and its historical journey. A visit to this park is a captivating experience that transports you to a time when these seeds of hope were sown, and nature's beauty was preserved for...

An absolutely stunning place! I would highly recommend visiting if you are nearby Kyustendil. If you are visiting from Sofia mind that the walk around the sequoias is not very big as you drive very close to them(5-10)min walking distance so if you expect a hike or something like this I would suggest going to the Hisarlaka which is a bit below on the mountain, so you can do it after or before. Another suggestion would be to visit the Villas above Bogoslov village, just drive up the mountain and you will end up at villas all around with a beautiful scenery and some offer a great...
