We have just returned from 7 nights at Aqua Nevis and we had a great holiday. 2 adults and a 8 1/2 year old boy. And we would definitly go back.
The hotel is clean. Yes it can be "basic" in places but it's clean.
The jewel in the crown is the Aqua Park which is not part of the actual hotel but the hotel has its own private entrance right outside reception. You can take drinks from lobby bar into the Aqua park but not food. This was NOT a hassle! Although, I would strongly recommend buying/taking a drinks holder. We didn't take one but you can buy a cardboard one for 1lev from the bar, but it only holds 4 drinks. We were very grateful when someone donated a plastic one to us when they were leaving.
We didn't spend much time around the actual hotel pool apart from grabbing a quick drink and snack on day 1. We headed straight for the Aqua park and this was for us the best place to go. The lazy river was my personal favourite. We had a child who was just under 130cm and had a yellow band but he could go on the main slides with a blue band wearer. I love slides where you have a ring (singles and doubles available) and there was a mixture of both. There was 2 foam parties in the water park wave pool whilst we were there. Its normally a Friday but they held one on a Thursday also (just listen for the music from the live Dj).
The lifeguards at the water park are very diligent and will prevent kids with a blue band (over 130cm) going on the splash park for the yellow band kids which I think is great as it protects the smaller kids from older kids messing around. Always plenty of Sunbeds at Aqua park.
The food in the restaurant was OK. We ate well every night. Not once did we say "that's not nice". Choice is limited however but we always found something to eat even the 8 year old who doesn't survive on beigh food like so many other kids his age.
We would reccomend walking to sunny Beach. Its a 20 min walk down the straight road once you get down head in the direction of the big wheel. Some nice Ibiza style chilled beach bars. I think one was called Chilli bar. Flower street is the well known street which is the other end. But this is very busy! It's worth a walk down just to experience it but if you have kids maybe go a bit earlier in the evening and walk back along the front to the nicer bit (in our opinion). We did eat at La Flora but I wouldn't recommend. Others ate at Jack's steak bar on flower street and they said it was nice.
The sports bar at the hotel (you have to come out of the main gate and walk along the road parallel to hotel to find it) was where we spent most of our nights. Todd the bar man is excellent and this is where you can find the football pitch, crazy golf (chargeable 6levpp) and the games room. Football shown here although the signal is a bit intermittent and karaoke on some nights. Our 8yr old loved running himself silly on the pitch every night.
Yes the surrounding area is run down and the hotel is behind a drinks factory. But this didn't impact us enjoying our holiday. I think the people who complain about this might be the same crazy people who let their kids pick up the mandatory stray kittens and cats that wander around the street and kiss and cuddle them like they were pets!
If your looking to keep kids and big kids entertained through the day and a bit of life at night I would reccomended you give Aqua...
Read moreI visited in a weekend both Action Aquapark in Sunny Beach and Aqua Paradise in Nesebar. In this review I will compare both aqua parks to facilitate the choice of one of them (in case you do not have time to visit them both). Action Aquapark from Sunny Beach: generous parking, clear directions, online ticket offer (2 + 1 free for adults / persons over 130 cm high). From the architectural point of view it is created logically, it is clean, there are changing rooms, showers, toilets, the attractions are a little less than in Nesebar but enough for a family for one day. The restaurant is very clean (you can see the kitchen through the glass), the service is fast (for a restaurant), you can order cooked food but also pizza, you can pay by card, the portions are sufficient, delicious and at a good price. Recommend this park for adults (over 30 years) and for children (0-15 years). And, when trying the attractions you won’t find huge tails !!!!
The Aqua Paradise in Nesebar I recommend it to 15-30 year old. Ever since I approached it I have been trying so many feelings. Free parking is small and full from the first hour. You will be redirected to a parking lot in the neighborhood where you have to pay (I think the parking lot / the land is of the same complex but the owner still wants to charge you extra money ... 5 leva / day). At the entrance you will have to put some money on the bracelet received so you can consume something inside the complex. At the departure you will receive the the money left on the bracelet but the employees will not give the exact amount because they don’t have the exact money… I had to receive 5.45 but received only 5 leva). I didn't see changing rooms and the toilets seem to be less! The inflatable rings are colored and are intended for certain recreational areas. You will not be allowed to take them from one side and go with them to the other (lifeguards are watching you). Over 90% of the inflatables were not properly inflated! Over 50% were patched multiple times! You will easily find inflatables with over ten patches. The tiles are very slippery and it is not recommended to run! The Rafting River does not have a clear time of operation. In the afternoon there is a pirates show, very pleasant. For the little ones the music will be a little loud but maybe the animations will captivate them. Otherwise the music is louder, more lively, more bumsi-bumsi. The food is oriented towards fast food (pizza, burgers, fries, kebabs etc) and a little more expensive than in the other park. At the attractions long queues are formed (maybe because some of them are listed as "extreme" and lifeguards wants to make sure that everybody gets down safely. Compared to the park in Sunny Beach, here are more attractions, more of them are rated as extreme, sometimes queues are formed for over 20 minutes, but for those who are passionate about aqua parks it should not be missed. I recommend it to...
Read moreSecond and last visit!!! Last year great, this year a disaster. I'll start tickets, it doesn't matter if you buy online or on the spot, either way means waiting in a long line. You buy online, you are still standing in the queue to check the validity and issue the wristband. This is followed by a bag check, mainly so you don't bring your own drinks and food. (unfortunately not everyone has the same rules, if you know the local languages it's no problem to bring your own food or drink). Children under 130cm must be accompanied by their parents on attractions. If you have a smaller child and he is at the children's water playground, (Adventure Island), expect that you will only control him from a distance and if he is afraid, you will not help him on the attraction. Despite the fact that the sign clearly states that children must be accompanied by an adult. Once again, lifeguards strictly prohibit accompanying children to this attraction. (well, just like at the entrance, it is enough to use the eastern or local language during the confrontation and there is no problem) How would the park management react to the possible injury of a child at this attraction when the lifeguards prohibit parents from accompanying them to the attraction, that is the question. The young lifeguards probably have a competition in whistling and admonishing parents at the children's pool instead of directing traffic directly to the attraction where they do not want to let parents with their children. It would be better to have a lifeguard right at the attraction watching over the kids than him walking around playing Mitch Buchannon from the Coast Guard. But I appreciate that they uncompromisingly throw out teenagers who have forgotten that they are no longer children from Adventure Island. Food and drink sometimes 2x more expensive than in the surrounding area, card payment possible, but only if the bill is higher than 10LV. Service and food quality below average. If you want to go with small children, I do not recommend. If you are an adult or teenager without children, I...
