Zarapovo Waterfall - Vishovgrad — Attraction in Pavlikeni

A great and not really popular place to visit. It was ennobled with wooden bridges and stairs to be more easily accessible. Still, be careful with the stairs, as they are really steep. They are however, way tougher and more stable than they look.

You can park your car just a few minutes from the waterfall, near the main road between Vishovgrad and Emen. Follow the signs there.

When you reach the spot, you will be seeing the waterfall from the top. You can cross the river via a bridge and then go to the aforementioned stairs or take the other route and go down via a rocky pathway. Both routes will take you to under the waterfall.

Visited March 2020, reach via road from Emen or Vishovgrad only. Lovely place to have a picnic. Parking on the track hundred metres from main road.To access the lower bridge and below the waterfall is not for the faint hearted. Be careful at all times especially with young children, of the steep cliffs. I went here with 2 kids, 4&7, for a bit of an adventure, it's fairly small but there are a labyrinth of trails to follow and we spent nearly 2 hours exploring including a couple of stops for food/drink. There are a few rocks for a very easy scramble, and one ladder is particularly precipitous but can be avoided (we went up it but not down). When we visited we had the place...
