Salla Estate — Attraction in Provadia

We booked 10 rooms at Salla Estate for a group of 20 people, with breakfast included, for 3 nights. Unfortunately, the experience was extremely disappointing:

The so-called “surprise dinner” turned out to be a fixed portion (salad + fish or meat), served without any options, at a price much higher than in good restaurants in Bulgaria where we could actually order what we wanted. We were also served rakia and wine without being asked if we wanted them.

Breakfast was the worst we have ever encountered: just a few tasteless doughnuts, croissants, a plate with jam, and a piece of tomato. Later they brought some fried eggs and cheese, but with the absurd restriction of “only one egg and one slice of cheese per person.” On one morning, the yogurt was watered down.

The service was rude: when one colleague asked for a glass of water, he was told he would only get water if he ordered something else from the bar.

The horse-riding activity, which was promised and scheduled, never happened – the staff didn’t show up and stopped answering the phone.

In conclusion, the price–quality ratio was disastrous, and the staff’s attitude was disrespectful. Definitely not...

We came without reservation, but we were welcomed and had a great tour around the estate with the owner. Very sweet man! And the tasting was done with the son, who spoke great English and we learned a lot of things about wines. They both were super nice, warm and smiley people! Un remanso de tranquilidad y paz escondido en el noreste de Bulgaria. Salla Estate es una bodega gourmet que cuenta con alojamiento para huéspedes y ofrece a sus visitantes una experiencia única: visitas guiadas por las bodegas, catas, paseos por los viñedos e, incluso, montar a caballo. Cuentan con una gran variedad de vinos, entre los que cabe destacar el Cabernet Franc, el Rosé y el Vrachanski Misket, elaborado con una variedad de uva autóctona del mismo nombre —el equilibrio perfecto entre aroma, sabor y frescura para los calurosos días de verano—, todo ello acompañado de comida casera exquisita capaz de conquistar cualquier paladar.

Al márgen de todo lo anterior, quisiera hacer especial mención del personal del hotel, cuya profesionalidad, atención y amabilidad han sido del más alto nivel. La cercanía y gentileza de Sami, la maestría de Diana en la cocina, la amabilidad y el esfuerzo de Veliko en los establos… Entablar conversación con ellos ha sido una de mis mejores experiencias en Salla Estate. ¡Gracias por convertir nuestro fin de semana familiar en un recuerdo inolvidable!
