Smolyan Fortress — Attraction in Smolian

Put Nevyastata Ecotrail on Google maps and you'll get right to the parking lot. It's a short drive up from Smolyan and so very worth it. The trail to the fortress is to the left of the eco trail. Easy, mostly flat 15 minute walk, very well maintained, trash cans and benches spread along route, Free. The view is beautiful and there's unbelievble sense of divinity sitting in the top bench. Another great location with fantastic view on valley from top! It's amazing how people in ancient times could build it on such height stone fortress! Ruševine Smoljanske tvrđave se nalaze visoko iznad današnjeg grada Smoljana. Do nje se stiže putem prema Pamporovu pa onda šumskom stazom. Staza nije previše zahtevna, dobro je ograđena, održavana ima klupe i skloništa od kiše. Tvr+ava je u osnovi kasnoantička, da bi kasnije bila u vizantijskom i bugarskom posedu. Dolaskom Turaka je zapustela i razrušena. Danas se mogu videti ostaci bedema i drugih struktura. Ono što je fascinantno je mesto na kojem je pogidnuta.
