Amazing! Emotional! Fun! Grateful heart! It was easy for us to get here(Boyana waterfall) because we mostly climbed down and not up and we followed first the white and green marks on the trees and then from the waterfall we followed the white and red marks on the trees .

From metrostantsiya vitosha on Sunday,we took E73 and then change to bus 63 . We got off at desks statsionar( 1 bus stop after dendarium ;the one Google maps will suggest. )And from here,it took us 1 hour to get to the waterfall hiking and it was mostly climbing down and 1 hour and 20mins to climb down in a different direction to take the bus following the white and red marks. (It was point-to-point trail)

Going down after the waterfall was a little bit messy. Some paths were very narrow and wet so some of the stones on the path was slippery. We really took our time and climbed down slowly . Just be careful. Take your time and not run. If you encounter ones who want to run, move away and not follow them or tell them to be careful. There was an incident of a young lady who fell and injured herself badly (we hope that she is better)

Conclusion:the trail that we took was the best because apart from what you can see before reaching the waterfall and the trail was easy;much climbing down than up,you get to see the waterfall from untop and after the waterfall, the stream of water follows you and the view is amazing.

No entrance fee!

Tickets for the bus were very cheap. The same ticket that you would use in the city. For once with the monthly or yearly pass, you don’t need to buy an extra ticket.

This 25m waterfall is truly amazing, view is like from a fairy tale, but to get here you have to be well prepared - make sure you have hiking equipment, never go on a rainy day as the trail is full of mud and slippery rocks, make sure you have enough daylight to make the trip back, water, food and some first aid is a must too!

There are two ways to get here from Sofia - one is to get on bus 64, and start at the "Boyana waterfall hike starting point" and hike up, by my measurements, around 800m, the path is super steep, clothes will get dirty and some cliffsides have an insane drop, you need to be able to focus on where you step and keep your balance, and after you make it to the waterfall you can make the same way back, adrenaline, especially in rainy, foggy or dark time is guaranteed.

The second way is to take bus 63 to Golden bridges, then walk around 1h 30min with a easy asphalt 100m ascent and a 150m descent to the waterfall, but these 150m are super steep and muddy, after you make it to the waterfall you can either go back as you came to Golden Bridges (we couldn't make in time for the last bus, which is at 20:30 local time) or do the 800m descent to bus 64.

If you prepare well, this hike is super worth it, but not safe for pets and children, the views are astounding but be careful and be prepared!...

We visited this waterfall twice — the first time, we took the trail that goes from the top down, and the second time we started from the point near Boyana Church. Both routes had their own charm and offered different kinds of enjoyment.

On the way to the waterfall, you pass through beautiful scenery, making the hike itself a real pleasure. And once you reach the falls, the view is absolutely breathtaking. Sitting down for a coffee and taking it all in was such a peaceful and rewarding moment.

There are both easy and more challenging paths available — I’ve tried both, and they’re really well maintained. You can tell a lot of thought went into designing the trails, and the signage is super clear — it’s nearly impossible to get lost.

For us, it was an incredibly enjoyable experience. We even wandered off the main path a couple of times to explore new spots, and it truly felt like walking through a...
