The Devil's River Canyon — Attraction in Stambolovo

We went there with the kids. It was hot, but we still made the stroll. We saw deer and we tried to get lower to the river place (hunting for a geocache). But then there was that alarm sound, similar to what the sirens for air strike sound like. So, being with the kids, being tired and soaked with sweat, we ran uphill to a safe place - we correctly concluded that the siren announce that the water will be released by the dam, but we didn't know where it will be released and if we will be affected by it. This is an interesting and beautiful nature phenomenon. The site was part of the riverbed of Arda river before the dam "Studen Kladenec" was build. As the river does not flow anymore and the rock formations made by the water for million of years can be observed. To me they were quite interesting. As some water is released from the dam the river bed is not completely dry. Some locals told us that at some places where the water flows there are wholes that go as deep as 60m. Το σχεδίαζα πολύ καιρό και πήγα σήμερα, μεγάλο Σάββατο, έτσι για το YOLO...!!! Αν περάσετε στην Βουλγαρία από τα σύνορα της Νυμφαίας "οπωσδήποτε" να πάτε από τους επαρχιακούς με τα 5 άρια ( 5, 5072, 591 592, 593 κτλ ) μόλις γυρίσετε στείλτε μου ένα ευχαριστώ... 🤘😂 Οι δρόμοι είναι στενοί και το οδόστρωμα καλό-μέτριο, αλλά μόνιμα με στροφές και πανέμορφα τοπία,θα σε ικανοποιήσει και με το παραπάνω...εννοείται πάντα απευθύνομαι στους σύντροχους μοτοσυκλετιστές.... Εγω πάντως ΞΕΤΡΕΛΑΘΗΚΑ...!!! Όσο για το Φαράγγι...δεν υπάρχουν λόγια... από τις φωτογραφίες και τα βίντεο χάνει πολύ... Το μόνο που πρέπει να έχετε στο νου σας είναι τα καύσιμα.... Αν δεν βάλετε περνώντας τα σύνορα και τα πρώτα 20χλμ, θα συναντήσετε το πρώτο πρατήριο καυσίμων στην πόλη...
