When you arrive at this place it seems like a nice, serene picnic spot with a small waterfall. But it has a small trail which you can climb up to see the waterfall from above. As you start to climb you realise the view from below is simplistic. This waterfall carries on over a significant distance and is beautiful way beyond what you saw when you arrived. It really is a continuing marvel. It must be stated at this point that the climb is up a combination of wooden and rock hewn steps and the climb can be quite steep and high. You should wear good shoes and best not be intimidated by heights. The track is part of a nature trail but it had benefitted from the construction of bridges, steps and walkways to allow access to see a most beautiful spot of nature and the waterfall in all its glory is simply stunning.

It's a great chill place for a short hike, a picnic or both. In terms of food, there is a small grill that offers a small variety of food, but good enough if you don't feel like bringing your own. The price is great for the location and is comparable to the average restaurants in a big city. If you want to bring your own food, there are a couple of tables to set your food, but make sure to bring a blanket or something else to place on the ground in case the tables are full. The hiking trail is quite fun. It's a little bit challenging with vertical stairs in a couple of places, so keep that in mind when deciding whether to do it. At the very least give it a go and you can always go back at the point where you don't feel comfortable any more. The views are...

The waterfall is small but nice for a few pictures. You can sit and have a snack in the area. Please avoid the eco-path! This is a tragedy waiting to happen! There's a sign but only in Bulgarian, no warnings of any kind! First part of the path has wood steps and reels, but once you are at a higher ground is impossible to return, the second part is barely marked and there is no safety! Big rocks uphill, steep climb. Tour agencies are taking entire groups there. Women, children, and seniors! Without the proper warnings. If you're an experienced climber you need proper boots and exercise caution. I don't recommend it to the average tourist! The municipality has been notified. This is a nice place but don't risk your safely...

Had a really nice time here. The waterfall near the car park area (the largest) was OK, but the water not so nice for swimming (late summer, not much water), but the nicer ones are the smaller ones further up the rocks. The path is just to the left when facing the waterfall. The path is fairly rough, but if you're careful you'll be fine. Would NOT attempt this in the rain or snow. But just 5-10 minutes walk up you'll see some nice views and a little lagoon near a waterfall that's perfect for swimming. The water was cool, clear and fresh. You can even jump from the waterfall into the water (at your own risk ofc). We also met some friendly locals, so it's a nice place for a picnic too!

The waterfall is great this time of year with the rain keeps coming. Easy to get with on road signage in Bulgarian, parking right next to the waterfall. Very serene and peaceful, listening to the waterfall, enjoying all the nature around. If you'd like you can climb up, it's beautiful but the path is very steep. There's very uneven steps in the rocks, slippery at times, wood logs nailed into wood rails and in and some wobbly bridges. We walked till we weren't comfortable going anymore. You can enjoy wonderful views withing 15-20 minute walk\climb.

Hotnitsa Waterfall, also known as Kaya Bunar, is a breathtaking natural gem near Veliko Tarnovo. The 30-meter cascade plunges into a serene emerald pool, surrounded by lush greenery and rugged cliffs. The well-maintained eco-trail, featuring wooden bridges and stone steps, offers an adventurous yet accessible hike with stunning views. It’s an ideal spot for nature lovers, photographers, and those seeking tranquility. A must-visit destination that showcases Bulgaria’s natural beauty at its finest.
