No privacy during day light hours. This is a very very safe campground. The host is circling thr grounds constantly and you're basically sitting with your neighbors bc there are sparse amount of trees and they are close. Maintenance drices by a lot until they leave for the day. It's just pretty busy so people are looking at you quite a bit as they are leaving and driving thru..so if you want privacy gotta wait til dark. Stayed in spot I primitive site, very pretty by water. 5 minute or so walk to restrooms. It's right by the water like most of the sites. There are 2 showers, how and food water for however long u want they are included in camping fee. Pretty clean toilets and campground. The trails are pretty but there are constant reminders you are only a few min drive from a city...fences, barns, etc everywhere. Nice little workout though and plenty of birds to see and the squirrels are everywhere too. They will try to come see if you have food but arent aggressive. For 21.80 including fees a night... I would say I've been to much more beautiful places but for the safety, the showers all that. It's a great place to stay in exchange for a hotel if you know how to camp right. But if you want to get out and forget society...keep looking further. Good place for kids to learn to start hiking, some spots were pretty steep tho so make sure they know how to use a hiking stick or you are well able to carry them if need be for a short period. Kids over 7 should be fine

My first experience staying at Bledsoe Creek State Park. We purchased a new camper and needed to do a maiden voyage with it. The park was easy assess from the road. I went to work during my time at the park. When I arrived I was met by the Camp host Bill. A very nice host. He told me about park and what was available to purchase if I needed anything. The one thing I did point out was the reservation part of it. He informed that a gentlemen recently reserved 6 campsites and never showed up. So the system needs to be updated. When I got online to make the reservations, I noticed every campsite was reserved. No availability. I believe the system needs to updated, so others may have a opportunity to reserve campsites. I wanted to come back again real soon, but again, nothing available, except for the weekdays. I really like the discounts for military and seniors. The park it self was very clean & quiet. I noticed the park ranger making rounds. Lots of wildlife as well. Drove around the park and noted how organized it was and again very clean. I used the shower house and the shower and restroom areas were nice and clean. However noted, that the shower stall could use a shelf to put your toiletries on. Overall I would say this park is outstanding in my book. would just like to see the reservation side of it get updated daily or weekly if possible. I will most definitely encourage others to camp there and return again. Thanks for a great experience.

I recently went to Bledsoe Creek State Park for the first time and I loved it. It is dog friendly on all the trails as long as your pet is leashed and you clean up messes. I typically go to Longhunter State Park but decided to try something different and was happy I did. My dog and I enjoy walking trails, and BCSP did not disappoint. We walked the High Ridge Trail then finished out with the Shoreline Trail. High Ridge was on the difficult side with plenty of hills, but it was a good workout. Shoreline is an easy hike and the scenery along Old Hickory Lake is lovely. There is also plenty of wildlife to spot if you're paying attention--deer, heron, geese, egrets and so on. We also took the paved Birdsong Trail for starters, and was stunned to come across a nearly tame mama deer and her fawn, which I assume is due to her familiarity with campers in that area. The park seems well taken care of, restrooms were clean, trails properly maintained. The only suggestion I would make would be to place some strategic maps along the trails to show you where you are. All in all, however, I enjoyed my visit and look forward to a return trip.

Bledsoe Creek is a small State Park, but it offers camping, hiking, boating, playground, and history. One of the trails is set up for children, educating them on the foliage and wildlife in the park. Some trails are paved, making them suitable for handicap access. Dogs are permitted on the trails. There are lots of benches making even a casual walk enjoyable. The longest trail is a combination of the Lakeside and High trails and is suitable for training for a 5K run. Its total length is about 3.1 miles. The park provides a safe environment for families since it is regularly patrolled by Rangers. Cell reception is strong enough to play music on my phone throughout the park.

This was a great place to camp. Very quiet and had great electric service.the trails were nice but the temp was almost 95 so we didnt do much hiking. We did have a sworm of flood mosquitoes (the little zebra looking ones) chew on us and even spraying with off just made us more appealing to them. We woke up the next morning to the squirrels having dug open the cooler and ate all of our cheese and some hotdogs. The pushed the 2 gallon jugs off the top. I will be back and it was fun but it was just too hot this time of year and the mosquitoes and squirrels were bad. On a positive finish the bath house was spotless and had a good clean smell. Worth every penny.

We had an amazing two week stay at the campground. The staff were incredibly friendly. All the facilities were incredibly clean and the entire grounds were well maintained. With the gated entry and the ranger always nearby we felt incredibly safe at all hours of the night The camp hosts were always around and eager to help. They provided recommendations on restaurants, nearby activities and other state parks to visit. I found their firewood to be a better deal than that from stores in town. The wildlife was plentiful and very accustomed to people. Often I would enjoy my morning coffee with a whole herd of deer about 25 feet from my window.
