Very nice location. Our guide told us you need to pay 2,50$ p.P. or 10$ for 4 temples (no discount for all 4?). BUT our hotel and the staff we asked in a restaurant said it's free. There are no official signs whatsoever. And honestly a "tourist police"? Make up your own mind, but I think it's a scam.

In the end no one asked us to pay the "entrance fee". Another argument for a scam. Or has the tourist police all together a day off on a regular Monday?

Locals, if you read this. Don't try to scam us this way. Put up a donation box and tell us western tourists, a 2$ donation would be welcome for keeping the place clean. Add water and a rented head with it and you can easily get 3-4$ donations. You will see, most people will gladly put...

Interesting temple, But i felt uneasy in this place, and kept going out to check my moto even though it was locked.just happen to ride moto around the back and wander in through a side gate. Wasnt sure if there was an entrance fee. Theres some amazing relief carvings here and statues. You can really see the craftsmanship of how one stone was shaped to suit the one beside it. Inside the center temple (a later addition),was a regular couple old ladies wanting me to buy a bracelet. After saying no 10 times they tried to shoo me out. I just ignored their demanding umgratefullmess, and was so happy i did not give in to their pushy arrogance, so they moved onto the next person who just arrived.

Was a wonderful experience before "tourism police" demanded $1 from me. I asked for a receipt as I told them I prefer to give money to monks and they said not available. They then were asking how I got there and what type of moto I drive , where it was parked .... I felt very uneasy as I think they were trying to steal it as they were telling me to park in a sketchy spot outside the gate. I parked with other local bikes and cars inside the compound. I left right after instead of enjoying the temple. Picture is of the tourist police who made me feel uneasy. Notice my $1 hastily shoved into his pocket about to fall out......

Nokor Bachey Temple is a hidden Khmer gem in Kampong Cham, offering a charming blend of ancient 11th-century structures and a modern Buddhist pagoda nestled within. Its peaceful atmosphere, rich carvings, and relatively untouched vibe make it appealing to history lovers, photographers, and those seeking a quieter spiritual site. However, be aware of variability in entrance fee practices and bring essentials like water—they’re not widely available on-site. For the best experience, aim for early arrival, dress respectfully, and consider pairing your visit with Phnom Pros and Phnom Srei if you're paying for entry.
