The Ekom waters falls are located in the Moungo department in Cameroon, near Melong, not far from south of Bafoussam, the third largest city in Cameroon, more precisely in a village called Mboué, of the Baréko people. These falls are 80 meters high and are the most beautiful waterfalls in Cameroon. They are characterized by 2 waterfalls, one permanently fed whatever the season, and the other only in the rainy season. with regard to the cinematic history of these falls, it is on this site that some scenes of the film “Greystoke, the legend of Tarzan” with Christophe Lambert were filmed. And it's easy to see why this feature film chose this place as its filming location: an oasis of nature where the falls are surrounded by lush vegetation.

This place has become a touristic site where multiple groups from Europe, America, Africa and even within the country come to admire nature and it's beauty. Some come to spend time with God, have retreat, shoot their movies and so on. In this site, we have rest houses, restaurants, Bars and there is also light. The only thing lacking here is network. Coming here for your vacation will be the best decision you ever made.

These photos and videos were taken during a retreat program held by the CBC Youth early this year 2023. Here, we had time with God through his word, Prayer, praise and worship and offering. After spending time in the presence of God, we went down to visit the falls. The distance from where we were to the falls was about 1 km. While near the falls, I was amazed of what I saw, you need to see it by yourself, a wonderful Nature created by an infinite being facing me a mortal and empty human. This day was a remarkable day in my life. I wish the next time I will go you join me so that together we can enjoy what God has kept for us, please share with your loves ones this marvelous...

🌍 Visited on: July 15th 🌿 Location: Ekom Nkam Waterfall, near Melong, Cameroon 🌏 Visitor Origin: Traveler from India 🇮🇳

🌊 Review: I visited Ekom Nkam Waterfall, hidden deep inside Cameroon’s lush rainforest, and it was an incredible experience! Known as the Tarzan Waterfall (from the 1984 movie), it’s a true natural wonder surrounded by forest, hills, and wildlife.

🚗 Travel Route & Cost: From Douala to Nkongsamba: Public transport available for around 3,000 FCFA.

From Nkongsamba to Melong: Local shared taxi (15–20 minutes) — 500 to 700 FCFA

From Melong to Ekom Nkam Waterfall: Motorbike taxis available at the waterfall entrance road. It’s a 9 km ride through beautiful off-road trails and villages. You’ll need to negotiate the fare — locals may charge higher for foreigners.

💰 Entrance Fee: Foreigners: 3,000 FCFA per person Locals: 2,000 FCFA (Tickets are issued at the check post by an old man near the trail).

🥾 Hike: Just a 10-minute walk from the parking area down the stairs to reach the waterfall. You’ll be rewarded with breathtaking views, lush jungle, and the iconic Tarzan tree where the movie was filmed.

There are actually two waterfalls at the site — the main fall and a secondary one nearby, both stunning and worth exploring. If you’re in Cameroon and love nature, waterfalls, or jungle adventures, Ekom Nkam is a must-visit. Very peaceful, photogenic, and filled with hidden beauty. Don’t forget your camera and...

The Ekom Nkam Waterfalls in Cameroon are a breathtaking natural wonder that exceeded all my expectations. The 80-meter tall cascading waterfall is set against a lush, green forest backdrop, creating a truly picturesque scene. What I enjoyed most was the sense of tranquility and remoteness at the site, despite it being a popular tourist attraction. The area never felt overcrowded, allowing for ample opportunities to explore the trails and find quiet spots to admire the view.

The waterfalls are also very accessible, with a well-maintained hiking trail leading to the main viewpoint. The local guides were knowledgeable and provided valuable insights about the history and cultural significance of the site. Overall, I highly recommend the Ekom Nkam Waterfalls to anyone...

The place is absolutely amazing. In addition to the big waterfall, on the left side, there is also a smaller one with cleaner water, you can take a "shower" under it. Entry costs 3500 CFA (3000 for entry + 500 for the possibility of taking photos). Don't let yourself be talked into a guide. You absolutely don't need one, and they will charge you a fortune!

Picturesque landscape, wonderful scenery and above all being surrounded by nature. I visited this place in April 2023 and I'd recommend it for anyone who enjoys nature. The road leading are also not bad, part tarred road and a stretch of untarred earth road from the main road down to the site. The tour guides are also very helpful, friendly and polite.
