Read morePlease ignore the sign outside that says they are open Tuesday-Sunday 10am-6pm. All the museum's employees told us they are only open till 5pm, and you'll need to be there BEFORE 4PM if you want to go inside. We have arrived just after 4pm not knowing and had to argue extensively (in French, most don't speak English). Employees attempted to collect a bribe for letting us in, on top of 2,000 CFA admission for a local person and 5,000 CFA for a foreigner. We saw another tourist get frustrated and leave. Self-guided tours are not permitted and you must have a guide. Our tour had to be rushed since we were "late". No photography inside is allowed. There were quite a few wonderful exhibition items worth seeing: rare musical instruments, costumes, masks, examples of lifestyle in different regions. All kept out in an open. Our guide touched and displayed some. We also saw some historically important photographs. All of which seemed to be degrading due to lack of proper storage and protection.
