My complaint is that since Abbotsford took over looking after the park the amount of dogs off leash along the dike has exploded. I walk my dogs on leash because they do not get along with other peoples dogs. They are not socialized. If people insist on walking their dogs off leash at least have control over them. Do not let them just run up to random dogs not all dogs are friendly to other dogs. If my dogs harm your off leash dog my dogs get put down or I incur an enormous fine. Be RESPONSIBLE. IF YOU DON'T WANT BAD THINGS TO HAPPEN TO YOUR DOG THEN LEASH THEM. That being said the park is well maintained and kept clean. Matsqui regional park is a beautiful place to walk and quite a peaceful place to go and have lunch by the river. Lots of wild life lurking about. Owls, Eagles, Great Blue Herons, Bears, Coyotes. I have only seen signs of coyote but I have seen bears in the past. Also lots of farm life to see as well, cows, calves, horses, llamas, sheep. Really is a beautiful place tucked away just wish people with dogs would be more...

Very few people outside Abbotsford are aware about this trail n i dont blame them coz its not even visible from the road. Right at the intersection of olund road u would find gravel parking. Its just the begining of the magic. Trailing along this park/trail would feel like crossing fields, forest, fauna and just going deep into woods. Half of the trail is around people’s farmland. Ofcourse its fenced but u can see the crop and the farmhouses along the way. At places its dense tense trees n wild flowers. Pathway is gravel. U can bring your horses for horse riding or just a walk with them. ( i wish i had one but i will soon take my friends there). Somewhere in between is a railway track that is a perfect spot to take some rail track photos. ( i did take some) In total its 14 km stretch which is too much to walk or jog but who cares if u wanna be healthy so just go for it....

Excellent park along the Fraser River, great spot to spend time with the family or friends. Lots of places to have camp fires along the shore line and places for lunch at picnic tables, most picnic tables have fire pit next to them. The trail system is really nice to though the floods have washed some of the gravel away it’s still really good and lots of loop systems to customize how long you want to walk far. They are plenty of great view points along the way, making things interesting. Couple bathrooms along the way too and are pit toilets but don’t really smell this time of the year and are very clean, they even have hand sanitizer in them. Also there is a really cute coffee truck parked in the...
