Needle in the haystack for sure. Diamond in the rough. Don't care how you say it, but what an amazing park.
We stopped there on the way to the Ferry and we wish we had more time there. My kids are 9 and 8, and there was tons of play things for them to do. Mutiple playground areas (at least 4). A huge fort for the kids play on, and small beach access. Picnic tables, covered picnic areas as well. There are even 2 areas where they have fireplaces available to use.
There are a few trails with cartoon characters in the woods you can wonder through. There is something for kids of all ages.
For the big kids there is even geocaching there (2 as of right now).

We visited during the off season in late fall, it was busy and seems to be a terrific for kids to wear themselves out. There are some some cooking shelters, a beach and a basketball hoop. During the summer months there are bathrooms and a canteen available for snacks and drinks. (Not available in the off season).
