Provincial park near Thetford Mines. Park is geared towards families and cyclists. Dogs are accepted in parts of the park. Not many trail options but the one pictured (La tourbiere) is easy and is mostly on boardwalk and is very informative on the life in marshes. Nice beach and multiple access points to the St-Francois lake. Pictures are from the Baie des Sables campground in the Saint-Daniel area of the park.

Amazing natural conservation spot in Eastern Quebec. The entire area offers spectacular views. Several trails are available -- just ask the staff at the reception. We took the Tourbière trail to see orchids and carnivorous plants which also happened to be in full bloom. If you look for a mosquito break, you will find it once you climb up into the observation point right in the middle of the Tourbière.

Not the best lake for swimming as it's quite merky. However, hiking with kids is simple and straightforward. My kids loved finding the carnivorous plants on the tourbière trail. Watch out where you swim, my kids got a rash from swimming in a part of the lake with some microorganisms that cause " dermatite du baigneur".

Beau parc,...
